I have read in a couple places of people getting replicas of designer rings and I am wondering how you go about finding one. I am in love with Verragio rings, but there is no way I will ever be able to afford one, so I want to learn more about replica rings. Do any of you bees have any info on where to find replica rings? Am I even correct in assuming that a “replica” verragio ring would be significantly cheaper than a real one? I don’t care if it has the name brand or whatever, but I really love how intricate and pretty their settings are. I kind of want to get a verragio style setting and get a Moissanite set in it:).
Thanks for any insight you can provide! 🙂

I don’t know much about replicas, but I think a lot of people have them custom made.

@Marry Jane: I, too, love verragio however I would reallllllly caution against getting a replica made. Their rings are incredibly complex and also very dainty- I’ve seen many verragio “replicas” that are either nothing like the original OR are so thin in spots that they are about to fall apart. Plus, getting a replica custom-made is probably not that much cheaper, and you rarely get any kind of waranty beyond the time you purchase.
My advice would honestly be to either get a simple setting with the stone you want and upgrade the setting later, or try to find a verragio within your budget. There are LOTS of knock offs out there that are as good as the original (tiffany, anyone?) but verragio is not something to easily replicate.
Post pics of whatever you decide!!

@Marry Jane: Many jewelers can custom-design a ring based on your pictures or descriptions. My ring is from MoissaniteCo, and they can make a custom ring for much less than the designer brand. You can email them a pic at email@example.com and get an idea if it is feasible.

@Marry Jane: I have a Verragio ring, but the intricate Verragio band I love to go with it is way overbudget. I recently corresponded with a (reputable) jeweler about replicating it, and in the end for multiple reasons they were not able to do it. That kind of put me off about having a replica of that ring made because I figured if this jeweler wouldn’t be able to do it, it would be a difficult task finding one who could.
Can you post a pic of the particular Verragios you’re looking at?

I have seen a few replica Verragio’s that look okay. One bee on here had one recently made for her and it’s pretty. It isn’t a Verragio, but it is pretty.
Is there a specific style# from Verragio you are trying to replicate? Or one of their lines? I have seen a lot of rings around the bee and browsing online that seem to emulate the Venetian collection.
I will tell you though, I own a Verragio and there really isn’t anything like it out there. You can get something that looks similar but it just isn’t the same. I agree with @bkrocks13: about finding a simpler setting or a cheaper Verragio. Some of their new Parisian designs are under $2000 and the Couture collection has a few that are under $2000 as well.

@taylorkirby: That is really pretty! I’m surprised that a jeweler would outright copy the Verragio logo around the surprise stone though..

@starla: I know, that kind of threw me for a loop too. That is one of the better replicas I have seen out there though. I have only seen a couple that I was impressed with.

The issue with having an intricate designer ring (Tacori, Verragio, etc) custom made is that if it is well made and looks like the original, then it will cost close in cost.
I asked various reputable jewellers about a replica of a Tacori with one slight tweak since Tacori themselves wouldn’t customize the ring for me. The quotes were all within a $400 price difference of the original Tacori itself, and the slightly thinner shank that I wanted customized wasn’t worth the small savings.
OP – have you considered eBay? Lots of reputable jewellers sell samples of designer settings online. They’re authentic, but you won’t get the peace of mind warranty that these expensive rings tend to offer.

@letigre: Ebay! I always forget ebay.
That is a good idea! Or perhaps you could find a slightly used one?
I just googled ‘intricate engagement rings’ and among designer rings, a bunch of others showed up. Try looking on Etsy too, they have gorgeous rings and the sellers can generally work with your specifications. I have seen a lot of rings with moissy, white sapphires, emeralds, rubies, etc.

@taylorkirby: I rarely use eBay but Tacori’s prices are a bit inflated in Canada. My setting was about $800 more expensive here than in the U.S. We were going to make the trip across the border to order it, but I randomly looked on eBay one day and was able to order a new one right on eBay! In total, we saved about $1000 on the same authentic Tacori setting. My ring has very little pave and it’s not a very complicated setting, so lacking the warranty wasn’t a big deal to me. My family jeweller is Tacori-authorized and can do the repairs just as well if need be. I highly doubt we would need a grand worth of repairs ever.
@Marry Jane: I found several Verragios on eBay, including the one pictured. It’s only $1300! You can type in the style # of the one you love and see if it comes up.

Well, I have a Verragio setting with a moissanite. What’s your budget? Mine was about $3500 all together.

@Pinkmoon: Agree with you. Someday I am hoping for a verragio parsian 120 (literally the least expensive option, lol) with an alternate stone (thinking black diamond) and I think the price will clock in right under $2,000 🙂

@letigre: That’s awesome! You guys are lucky you have a trusted jeweler to work on your ring. I looove the Paradiso rings! FI loves them too. So pretty, and apparently they are supposed to spin less than other rings.
OP look on ebay!! Seriously!

just get a few pictures of the styles you like, bring them to a good jeweler, and create your own with all the things you like and exclude what you don’t. you’d be surprised by the amount of helpful and creative suggestions a master can give. and you can create together and look at the sketches in the software
