Hey guys i am supposed to run a 10km mudrun this sunday. Problem is i am 6 weeks preg. i dont want to run it as i would be pushing myself. i need an excuse not to run it that is believable. i am supposed to run it with my brother and sister in law and dont wnat to tell them about the pregnancy until we are 12 weeks. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated besides faking an injury?

Tell them that you have food poisoning and spend the weekend in bed.

@MrsHowarts: +1 to @michiru4ever:‘s comment. just “get sick.” at least that way you won’t need an extensive excuse.

Moved to Pregnancy 🙂
i would do the sick thing! Food poisoning or even sinus infection?

I would say I’m too sick and have no energy. I wouldn’t dramaties it by saying you had food poisoning as they will probably ask more questions!

@MrsHowarts: upper respiratory infection and your on antibiotics. Now you have a reason to not drink and to not run.

Sick or car won’t start in the morning

Shin splints… You just trained toooo hard.

@MrsHowarts: “I’m feeling sick”. Probably truthful if you have morning sickness.
That said, I think this is one of the few occasions where an out-and-out lie (like faking an injury) is ok. It’s a bit like telling lies about gift shopping – you’re lying for a reason which they will appreciate later.

I just want to say you can run during pregnancy and it is good for the baby.

I’d just say I decided I didn’t want to do it anymore.

@dewingedpixie: Oh i know i can run, its just i havent been training and would push myself to run it. If it were a 5km i would do it forsure, but i would be pushing myself a little too much i think with it being a 10.
