Have you tried Nature’s Miracle? It’s AMAZING! It’s available at pet stores and usualyl hardware stores or places like Target.

If that doesn’t work I would try having your carpets professionally cleaned. Hopefully you don’t have to pull up the carpet but if you do then you should slap a layer of KILZ on the subflooring before you lay new carpet.

i would also say Nature’s Miracle, but I’ve only used it to clean up messes, not get odors out, but I’m sure that would work.

Here’s the issue with carpet: if you didn’t know about the crack and it was leaking through for awhile, it may have compromised the padding. Once it does that, you have to take the carpet up. Technically if the carpet itself is fine, you can just replace the padding and have the same carpeting put back down, but I’m not sure if many places will do that for you. I just know about it from when our apartment flooded with sewage and they tried to do that behind our backs.

I’m afraid if the pee went unnoticed for a while, that it then soaked into the padding underneath the carpet. If that happened, I’m not sure you can get the smell out. Certainly try all of the usual remedies but it may not work out. Hopefully you don’t have to pull up the carpet.

To get out the smell I use gold old fashion vinegar. Let it soak and then blot it up. After that if you have one or if a friend has one, use a steam cleaning vacuum.

I am affraid that I think @ribbons and @lilyfaith are correct….

In australia they sell a washing powder called Bio Zet. This takes away the smell to both you and the dog, and is what was recommended by my animal trainer.
