Hello DIY bees!
After consulting with everyone whether to do pearl or paper or fabric flowers, fabric definitely came out on top. Question, though…. How does one get the rolled roses to be more loose? I’ve attempted a couple of different methods (rolling, vs using pipecleaners, fabric glue vs. hot glue) and I’m failing. I’ve tried using 2″ wide strips and 1″ wide strips and am still needing help. There’s a picture below to try to show what I’m talking about. Is it just that I’m too OCD and am wrapping things too tightly? What do you all think?

I wish I could explain it in such a way that would make sense, but I can’t lol..but I think you’re over-rolling.
When I roll my fabric flowers, I am holding the flower in my left hand, and rolling with the right. Maybe try pulling less with your rolling hand, while holding the flower with a lighter grip. Also maybe try one roll per turn of the flower…does that make sense??
Here are the ones I made out of organza, but I wanted them really tight, so I just held the flower with a firm grip and pulled harder as I rolled.

OK, maybe I’ll have to try again…
