Send save-the-dates.  We put our wedding website on ours. We also posted links to the site on Facebook and sent an email out, for those whose email addresses we had.  I think S-T-Ds are the most surefire way because you know everyone on your guest list will get the information.

We had people RSVP at our website, so we put it on the invite.

You can send the STDs up to a year in advance, especially if you have people coming in from out of town.  We did the magnets, so it would be a more constant reminder (vs a card they might tuck away and forget about).

We did save the dates in march. got engaged in october and the wedding is in July. It just worked out that we had time. our actual invites go out next week and we want people to RSVP and find info on our website, but im not sure people are utilizing it. I know where your at. We just put out website address on the STD.

We are thinking about adding a classy little note inside our invites that says please RSVP and find info on the website. and give them the address again. My fiance actually thought of doing vellum paper little business card size pieces and printing them ourselves.

@daniellej: we did business cards, that said “dear friends and family, we have made a website for your convienence with important information regarding the wedding. thank you! weddingwebsite.com/blahandblah” and many people have called to thank us since it was much easier than remembering to send out the rsvp’s. 🙂
