I am thinking about doing my own pomander balls for the church instead of pew bows and then using them for the reception also. I am looking for a way to hang them as centerpieces on each table. The only thing I could come up with so far is a banana stand. I would use the vase idea but think that will get too costly. Does anyone have any ideas for creating a stand or purchasing something to hang them from?

Hmm thats a tough one…re: the vases, what if you bought vases like this http://cgi.ebay.com/WHOLESALE-LOT-12-4-CLEAR-GLASS-CUBE-VASE-DSC002_W0QQitemZ120405182244QQihZ002QQcategoryZ60101QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 from ebay which arent too expensive and sat the balls on top of them? I am actually thinking of getting vases like that and spray painting them so they are slightly more opaque (I dont like the look of stems everywhere), if you would consider that then you couldnt even see inside the vase to see the ball is actually not an arrangement. Another idea is if you would consider sitting them on large square or round mirrors (pretty sure you can find these in craft store or floral supply places). I know that would squash the bottom of the balls though. I will keep thinking of a hanging option for you too!

If you could find some tabletop shepherd’s hooks to hang them from, that might look neat! Just thinking out loud…

Or maybe those garden hooks? Depending on how high you want them to be? You could secure them with some of that earthquake putty they sell so that they will be able to be removed? Or can you maybe get some heavy guage floral wire and shape them yourself and then wrap them in ribbon or something?
