@julies1949: You're awesome! Thanks so much for posting this!!!!! JUST what I was looking for!
Does anyone know how to do this with Mac? I can't right click and it's so frustrating!!!!
i do this ALL THE TIME! because i save so many photos in my computer like shoes i like, clothes, bags, hairstyles, etc. so i end up not remembering where i got them. an alternative to opening the file onto google is to simply drag the image from the location folder onto the image search box.
i can only do this on pc. google, for some reason does not have this feature when i use mac.
@cdncinnamongirl: You can right click on a Mac. You just hold down the control key and click. :)
....am i missing something? I don't see a camera anywhere when I click the google link ...
thanks very much for this. I dont know if google images is diff in US but I dont have a camera or an option to upload an image
Im desperate to find out the deisgner of this dress - I found the image on the knot. any ideas or suggestions please? -
Thanks for this post it was helpful but I still haven't been able to id my dress.
@Mrsvbtobe: You can also put in the image URL. Are you doing a general image search, or an image search? Make sure you go to google, click on images, and then try to upload the image by clicking on the little camera. If you have the two windows side by side, you can also click (and hold) on the image and then drag it to the search box. You can also upload a photo by dragging it to the same box, or clicking on "upload and image". This is the link to the google images search
http://images.google.com/ (note this a specific part of google, not the same as doing a general google search)
Thanks so much for this sticky!!! It helped me finally locate my dream ring just from a single picture. Here it is: http://www.gottlieb-sons.com/fine-jewelry-show.php?id=27036
Now if I can just find out how much it runs and who Gottlieb & Sons are...
This is how I found the designer for my wedding dress since it was posted on several 'knock off' sites. Since there is no way to get the original dress I'm having one made locally but the original designer'a dresses were amazing to see.

It's Monique Lhuillier

Do you have a pic of a wedding dress that you saved from the net? Did you forget to save the location or the identifying information? Do you need to know the designer/model?
1.Right click the image of the dress and select "Copy Image Location."
2. Go to http://images.google.com/
2. Click on the image of the camera in the search field.
3. Paste the image location into the box that pops up.
An alternate method is:
1.click on upload an image
2.Click on Browse
3. Upload the image from your files
4. Click on Search
The results will include all the sites that have used your image. The designer is usually one of the first results.
Sometimes it does take a bit of detective work. You may find a reference to the dress on a blog which then takes you to another site where you will find the specifics you are looking for.Good luck in your search!
ps you can use this site to find info on any other image
eg a pic of a centerpiece that you would like to source the lantern
I would like to acknowledge Miss Mink who suggested that we post this and provided some of the wording.
