i second penguin...and just drink water with meals, no soda/juice etc.
Work out a little bit harder! If you're doing a regular work out routine, throw in two or three extra sessions per week. And I second the cutting back on salt and drinking tons of water! Oh, and only drink alcohol on weekends (I learned that from Mrs. Peep Toe!).
Yeah, definitely check sodium levels on labels, and its easier to just cook for yourself so you can control your salt intake. Salt accounts for a LOT of bloat, and if you're already eating healthy, it will help tremendously! Frozen food and canned food has a lot of sodium, so fresher food is definitely the way to go!
Tons tons tons gobs of water, and no salt. Also fiber does well, doesn't it?
You should change up your workout routine. Your body may be used to doing your old routine. If you usually run a couple of miles at a steady pace, change it up and do intervals, hills, or sprints. Also, you might want to do strength training just one day a week to maintain your muscle tone and just focus on cardio the rest of the week.
Cutting down the salt intake is definitely a good idea! And like Jacqi said - changing up the workout regimen. Could you add in more cardio? Or change the weights your doing? Or just simply switch up from your routine ... it helps! Those last five are the hardest -but you've done so well - good luck!
It is easy to loose wait when you are overweight but once you get to the lower end of your healthy weight range it gets difficult.
Your body wants to stay at this weight so they say for people in their healthy weight range in order to loose weight you need to limit yourself to 1200-1500 cal per day.
-also dont eat carbs after 5pm
-Exersice hard for at least 1 hour per day at least 5 days a week
-you need protein to help your muscles rebuild themselves after exercise, women need around 100g of protein per day mostly from food but protein shakes also help. Muscle growth is important as Muscles burn cal and increase your metabolism.
-Take a suplement called acetyl L Carnitine 20 min b4 you work out this will speed up your metabolism. It really does work, otherwise coffee also increases your metabolism. Also always have at least one pce of fruit b4 you work out as this gets your body into fat eating mode when you exercise (I dont know all the technical reasons) but my personal trainer tells me to do it.
It is really hard to loose weight once you get to a certain point. I'm struggling with that now aswell.
Hope this wasnt too confusing.
Good Luck
I am a nutritionist and when I want to lose 5 pounds, I cut out all sauces, spreads, salts and sugars.
For example, no mayo if you need something use a little less than half a teaspoon of mustard. No butters, be careful with the salad dressings you use. Salts make you retain water so be careful. Sugar turns into fat so NO SUGAR!
If you want to weigh yourself make sure you do it first thing in the morning with no clothes on, after you go to the bathroom. This is your "true weight".
Let me know what your prgress is and I can tweak your regimen. I hope this was helpful.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
@lolaj - interesting about the "true weight" !! i always wondered what was the best time of day to check weight...thanks!!

Hi Bees!
My original goal for my wedding was to lose 17 pounds, and I've lost 12. I'm working on the last 5, but I'm having a really hard time getting the scale to move. Any tips for losing the last 5? I've only got 5 more weeks until the wedding, so I'm getting a little desperate. I don't want to crash diet, because I don't want to gain it all back on the honeymoon... I'm already eating pretty healthy, so I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?
