You can always make guacamole with it. I love topping avocado with salsa fresca from whole foods.

@mm86:  I LOVE avocado, so I eat mine plain. However, it’s really, really good if you sprinkle some lemon and herb seasoning on it (or lemon pepper seasoning). In addition to that, you can cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, put some olive oil on top, sprinkle with your lemon and herb, and roast it on the grill for a bit– I can’t even explain how amazing this is!!

2nd what mdcmod said – a bit of salt and a little olive oil right in the hole where the pit was… just yummy.  I want to go eat a half now!

My DH isn’t really a fan of avocado but since knows it’s healty for him, he started putting a few slices in his morning omelet.  He doesn’t really taste it when it’s all together with the eggs, mushrooms, scallions, and cheese.  We also slice a few pieces and put it on our turkey tacos.

@mm86:  make smoothies! Avocados make really creamy smoothies, and you can’t taste the avocado.

@mm86:  I can eat it alone now (I love it now!), but I had to start out with drizzling some salt and pepper on it ( I prefer sea salt). That was the only way I could eat it. After a while, I didn’t need it anymore.

You really have to make sure you’re eating it when it’s ripe, but not over-ripe. If it’s on the woody side, forget it. I use Goya (spice) on it. nomnomnomnomn.

@mm86:  I always mash mine up and mix in lime and garlic even if I’m using it as a mayo substitute. The lime makes it more like guac but without the effort or other ingredients.

I eat mine with salt and I love it. I didn’t care for it at first though but it grew on me I guess!

Avocado with 1tbsp of cocoa powder, .25 cups of water, 1tsp of vanilla extract and maple syrup to taste (I don’t put much). Mash everything well in a food processor and you’ll have a delicious chocolate pudding that is actually nutritious and you barely taste the avocado.

I also love avocado salad, where I put avocados and tomatoes, and salad dressing that is just lemon juice.

I’ve seen a recipe on pinterest where you cut it in half and crack an egg in the hole where the pit was, sprinkle some pepper on top and bake it… I’ve never tried it primarily because whenever I’m in the possession of an avocado I devour it, raw and plain, immediately. Mmmm avocado….
