My wonderful, lovely bridesmaids have already purchased their dresses.  They'll be pretty in pink!  The groomsmen have yet to figure out what they're going to wear.  How did you go about matching the bridesmaids' dresses with the groomsmen's tuxedo vests and ties?  I'm worried that if the groomsmen wear pink, the two shades of pink might clash.

Did anyone have luck finding matching colors by taking a color swatch?  Or did most of you order the dresses that already had coordinating vests and ties available?  I'd really appreciate some feedback on this!

Mens Wherehouse has a ton of different colors available -- bring a color swatch with you and compare it indoors and outdoors.  Fortunatly for us, our bridesmaid dresses are from David's Bridal, and MWH buys their fabric from the same company as David's Bridal.

     Good luck!

i think a complimentary color would be your best bet. Is there a darker color to your pallette?

if not then perhaps the guys don sharp black or other dark color with a burst of color on their lapels via the bout?

ahhhh...i can see miniature pink posies gracing each lapel......how great that would look!

I took a swatch of my BMs dresses (which were also a lovel shade of pink) and went shopping for ties and found some nice prints in a pink color that was complimentary to the BM dresses.

I didn't need them to match perfectly, since the guys stood on the groom's side for pictures, and the BMs on my side.

I opted for black vests because I thought pink ties AND a pink vest would be a bit too much.  And the boutonierres were pink, of course.  It all turned out really nicely.

Definitely take the swatch.  Or consider a safe color like black or white.

Our groomsmen will wear black/black and groom will wear a white vest with a black tie.  Their boutonnieres will incorporate our wedding colors in the ribbon and flowers.  That said, I'm still somewhat disappointed that I can't incorporate our colors into what they are wearing once they have taken their jackets off.

We are getting tuxes from MWH, too and our colors are light green and medium blue.  They had nothing near enough to either color, which was what I expected.

my bridesmaid dresses are blue, and i was told that it is probably near impossible to match the color of the dresses to the groomsmen, so the best bet is to choose a complimentary color that goes with the overall color scheme of your event. my other color is chocolate brown, but as it is a summer wedding, i opted for something in the same color family, but lighter (a color that amounts to 'taupe,' but what they call 'bisque' at the store). they advised it might be a little overkill to have everyone in the bridal party wearing the same color, and i'm kind of thinking that with a color like pink it might be a little too much to have everyone wearing pink. i second one of the above posts...maybe if you get a complimentary color and then add the pink somehow in the accessories (like the flowers) that would do the trick!

please dont add to your stress by trying to match the shades of pink...   why not go for a complimentary color instead - either all black or silver/platinum??

different shades of pink socks for the guys would be fun tho like dots, stripes and/or argyle???  just a thought - it would be a cute photo of the guys hiking up their pants a little to show off the fun patterned PINK socks...
