How to NOT flash everyone...

My dress is strapless and it's going to have a bra sewn into it, so I won't be wearing a separate bra in the dress. I really want to have pictures of me getting ready, including putting on my dress. What I don't want is to give everyone a show of the girls. Anyone have any ideas (or dealt with this same situation) of how to get into the dress without being indecent?

You could wear a cheap plain cami and slip the dress on over it. Once the dress is all the way up you can slide the cami down over your hips or pull it over your head to take it off. Something like this:

Or you can just make sure your  back is to the camera while you are changing into your dress.

Or if you don't want straps being shown you can get a white tube top/bra cover like these and slide if off once the dress is on:

I have had the same thoughts since my dress is strapless and I want those pictures too!  I was thinking of wearing a strapless bra and then taking it off when my dress is in the right place, but I really like babyboo's idea of a tube top or bandeau!

Hah this is a great topic, I wondered every time I saw a girl getting into her dress and the cups are sewn in.. um did the entire room just see her chest? I know I'm at least not really comfortable with that. The tube top is a great idea, I'm totally going with that, thanks!!

The tube top is an excellent idea. I was having similar issues with the thought of flashing everyone Smile

You can also go to the bathroom to get the dress partially on, and then hold it and come out to get the photos with everyone.

I agree with the little tube top or cami. Should be easy for you to just slide it off once the dress is covering you.

huh, when I changed into my dress at fittings, I just put the dress on, then unclipped my bra and took it off, then zipped the dress up.

@bells: zero slippage. :) I hate that tugging feeling when the strapless bras slip down.

Sewing cups in only works if your dress is tight enough to provide support though. Looser dresses won't help much, unless your breasts are naturally VERY perky and don't need much support.

@bells In my case the dress would have been too tight if I had worn a strapless bra or a corset, so the seamstress suggested just having the cups sewn in.

Here's a pic of my FSIL. I wasn't there but looks like she put her dress on then slipped her bra off after she was covered. I wouldn't worry about it too much :-)

It would help if I included the pic!

What I did was go into a stall to get the dress on and then came out holding it up for my MIL to zip it up.  Not fancy I know!

I was able to step into my dress and then take off my bra right after. Then I waited to be zipped up so there are zipping pictures in my dress

I've been a personal dresser/wardrobe for brides before and have seen it done 2 ways.  1)The bride just faces the wall when putting the dress on and all you can see is bare back.  2)The bride wears a strapless bra and just unhooks it when she gets the dress on her front.
