I'm ordering my dress online and I'm unsure of what size to go with. After looking at the designer's size chart, should I order the size that fits with the largest measurement I have? I'm planning on taking it to a seamstress anyways, but I'm still unsure. Thanks for any help you can offer!
I didn't order my dress online, but I was between sizes when I got measured at the bridal shop. I went with the larger size. I didn't want the pressure of not fitting into my dress (i.e. pressure to lose some weight). I guess I think of it as I'd rather the seamstress take it in then have to worry about letting it out. Again, I don't have any experience with online sizing, but every designer seems to be different. Good luck!
I just bought a dress this weekend and this is what they did to pick the size. Measure your bust, waist (natural waist) and hips. Compare them to the size chart and you'd have to go with the largest measurement, like you said. I was a bit iffy for myself since they ordered an 8 for me because my hips are the largest measurement but they ordered 2 sizes up. So a 6 was a 37 and I measured 36 but she insisted I go with an 8. If you're going to go to a seamstress anyway, I guess the bigger the safer? Good luck!
