We are having the ceremony and reception immediately to follow at the same place. Dressy but not formal, pretty usual for around here, no need to mention a dress code on the invite.

Here's the conundrum: weather permitting, we want to have a campfire afterparty, and I would encourage guests to bring a change of clothes. How do I say this? Instead of just putting "reception to follow" on the invite, I thought about doing an enclosure card that says that and then something about this little scenario, but other than "Weather permitting, campfire to follow. Bring a change of clothes!" I am not sure how to word it. Or... is that OK?

We do not have a wedding website, so that suggestion is out.

Maybe something like "Weather permitting, campfire to follow. Be prepared for S'mores and sing alongs!". It's cute and fun and gives people the heads up without sounding like a mom asking if you brought your outdoor shoes.

ETA - Further to that, when you talk to various guests I would mention to them to bring a change of clothes and let it spread via word of mouth.

I would create a seperate card for it! Something really cute and fun and more rustic looking. Then it won't take away from your invite, and still allow for you to communicate it in a fun way.

Is there somewhere for people to change? I would put something like, "Campfire to follow; space will be availble to change" or something like that.

@mwitter80: That is so cute! I do think we are going to do a separate card, but I want to keep the same leaf motif going on all the paper. I love your fun wording, though. What a good idea!

I'm sitting in an airport bored out of my mind, but full of creativity that no one actually needs :)
