How to pronounce name…

mad–elaine– but i dont pronounce things correctly in real life so who knows if that is right or not

I wish I could just record my voice saying that name (it’s relatively common in French). You’re dealing with different sounds. In English that would probably sound like Madd-Elaine or Mad-eh-line, but in French it’s more like ”Ma-del-lenn”

@NauticalDisaster:  yeah, that’s how I pronounce it as well. Mad-eh-lenn, with more emphasis on the first and last syllables.

Mad-e-lein (or lean) or just Maddie, because if she lived in Australia that’s what she’d get called at school.

I have also heard it as Mad-Lynn. No ‘e’ in the middle, which is a bit weird I know.

@RedHeadKel:  TTC is trying to conceive and DH is dear husband.

There really should be a sticky with all the acroynyms because there are quite a few used here on the bee.

@luckylady3090:  In my head with a French accent, it’s Mah-de-len. But realistically, American’s will say Mad-elaine. Lovely name, though.
