I assume you’re not going for the whole “Christmas-y” color scheme but maybe have red and dark blue (nod to the british flag) or maybe red and gold…  I lived in London for 5 yrs so I’m trying to think of some traditions and elements:  You could go for maybe a british country estate/ castle theme (this could be done in a less formal way pretty easily), the british food really isn’t that great so I wouldn’t suggest going there unless you did something like cornish game hen but you said you were’t going for super formal so that may not be what you’re looking for.

I’d say have a live band to show your love of music and as far as both loving to read, instead of having just plain old table numbers, the tables could be the names of some of your favorite books (maybe have all the Harry Potter books and others that you’ve enjoyed)

Hope this helps.  If I think of anything else, I’ll come back to ya.

Good Luck!!!

I’m sure you’ve at least googled Harry Potter weddings, but I think having a candy buffet table with the cand shop name could be cute, or a signature drink named “polyjuice potion”, or “Felix Felicus” (liquid luck).  Sign your guest book/marriage register with a feather quill.  Maybe have empty bird cages that look like they would be large enough to house an owl.  I swear I saw blog post that actually had some super cute stuff that was more “reminiscent of Harry Potter” than full on in your face, but I can’t for the life of me remember now.
