The stress of my upcoming wedding in 11 days has caused me to have a tension headache for the past three days. I take 3 ibproufon every 4 hours, but the pain is still there. I have tried scolding hot showers and baths and exercising to relieve some of the stress.
What do you do to relieve tension headaches/stress?

I take an aspirin and treat myself to a nap. It works 9 times out of 10.
Are you sure you’re drinking enough water? I get terrible headaches when I forget to stay hydrated and it usually happens when I’m stressed out!

the only thing that gets rid of my tension headaches is going to the chiropractor! its amazing the difference that it makes!!! i was going twice a week while wedding planning!

I am drinking 8-10 glasses of water.
i might look into a chiropractor or massage. Just hate spending more money on a massage after spending so much with the wedding, but i may just have too

Accupressure may provide some relief. Use your thumb and forefinger on one hand to gently apply pressure to the space just above the webbing between your thumb and forefinger on the other hand. Then switch hands.

My tension headaches are usually caused by issues with my neck. A good RMT usually helps!

@Southerngirl4234: One cold beer for the pain to be taken orally. Repeat as needed.
🙂 Seriously, the best thing is a massage or chiro like a PP mentioned. It helps to relax those tense back and shoulder muscles. Good luck!

Chiropractor helps for me!

Chiropractor and a good massage. Heating pads also help too.
I went to physical therapy for migraines so I use the stretches I learned there when I feel my neck and shoulders start to tense up.
Be careful with using ibuprofen and that you aren’t exceeded the recommended amount per day. Don’t want to add stomach issues to your list of wedding stressors.

@Southerngirl4234: Combo of Excedrin and Ibuprofen (to loosen shoulders/neck) and a warm neck wrap with lavendar. If that doesn’t work get a massage!

Excedrin Tension Headache (though I’m not sure if it’s back on the market yet) or sodium naproxen (Aleve). I also sleep with a mouthguard, since my tension headaches are caused by me clenching my jaw at night due to stress.

Excedrin tension (or similar generic brand) is the only thing that takes away a headache for me once I have it. I also take magnesium every day. I heard it helps and I definitely have less headaches.

I’m going to try and take magnesium and excedrin tension. I swear by excedrin migraine when I get migraines, so I’m sure the tension will help!
