How to say "Presentation Only" without saying it?

I would suggest using word of mouth. Tell those family members/friends who would not have a negative reaction. Also, once people find out you don’t have a registry, they will most likely be more inclined to give monetary gifts anyway.

Get your family and close friends to spread the word. Don’t create a registry.

I think most people will give cash if there’s no registry. I wouldn’t count on making a lot of money, but that’s what I’d do.

I’d also do as cheap of a wedding as you can. If you have debt and stuff, a lavish wedding shouldn’t be a priority. People will understand if you opt to elope, for example.

@dooner:  There should be no mention of gifts of any sort on wedding invitations. If you anticipate having a shower you can create a small registry (upgrades maybe?) or don’t create a registry at all. If you don’t have a registry most people will give cash or a check.

If people ask about gifts you could say “we have our houshold set up but are saving for ___.”

Frankly I wouldn’t mention your student loans. Those are not your guests’ responsibility.

It’s rude to ask for gifts, period. There’s no possible polite way to do this. Also, why do you call it “cash presentation”? It sounds like you want it to be given to you on a silver platter lol.

We had no registry and used word of mouh.  We got one set of  glasses, the rest of the gifts were cash.  It worked for the wedding and the showers.

Definitely go word of mouth, and don’t make a registry.

@dooner:  We’re in Canada too. We just got married a few weeks ago, in fact! One tip – flowers can freeze in like 3 seconds so make sure they’re wrapped up well or they may turn black. My florist kept reminding me of that lol.

@dooner:  The photos are all indoors lol.. I HATE winter and refused to do any outside 😛 But they turned out ok. We didn’t hire a pro photographer but managed to get quite a few nice photos. My sister used my husband’s good camera and it all worked out. We didn’t want to spend a lot on our wedding.. we prefer to put the money towards warm weather holidays 😀
