My boss' daughter has an extra, unworn wedding dress from her wedding last year, and pretty much gave it to me when I told her I was getting married. I told her I already have a dress, and she still gave it to me!

    So, I'm selling it!

But what I'm wondering is, how would I ship it? I don't have the garment bag that it came in, just a Davids Bridal bag that she had from her other wedding dress. Bees who have sold their dresses...any help?

    Thanks!

Iknow that when dresses are shipped from china, they are shipped inside out-I don't know why, but I'm sure there is a reason for it. I would say definately inside a garment bag, and maybe folded over once for minimum of wrinkling, and shipped in a box like a coat box. I would also make sure the box was sealed really well. maybe wrap tape around the whole box a few times, just to be on the safe side.

great, thanks! I'm wondering if a local bridal shop would have a garment bag and box to sell.

Bees who sold their dress: how much was your shipping?

When I sold my dresses, I just folded them inside the garment bag they came in and fit them into the box. It was $50-$60 within the US through UPS. I always got better prices when I created a shipping ticket online as opposed to when I went to a UPS store and got a quote.

@meliss: awesome! So you just enter the dimensions of the box and the weight, and you can print a shipping label that way? Thanks!

@napabridekelsey: Yup! Just add the sales price also if you want insurance.
