When is your wedding? I ask because if its a year away, just start networking with different people and you may come across someone who actually owns land. Now another way to find things or have people come to you is craigslist.org. Here on the west coast, craigslist is our local classified ads where we can post for free. Whether it be posting a house for sale, job posting, selling stuff, really ANYTHING to everything is on this website.
On another note, if you know any realtors or have any friends that know any, start talking to them. Sometimes you can work out a deal and they may let you use the land for a few hours, but of course you would have to create a contract that relieves the realtor of all liabilities. And you take full responsibility for cleaning up and any damage done (but really what kind of damage can you do to land). Hope this helps Miss Biner.

In my wildest dreams, we would find a very nice landowner who has an undeveloped lot on the side of a mountain overlooking the Chattanooga valley...They would let us use said lot for free out of the goodness of their hearts.
How do I find very nice landowners? Has anyone done anything similar to this?
