Will they allow you to paint an accent wall or two? Most places will let you if you change it back or pay like $15 a wall.

Curtains…they add color and are amazing.  If you can put up shelving that would help too because you can add personality with what you place on the shelves.  In the bedroom I would keep it simple, but the bathroom place a very fun and colorful shower curtain.

Are you able to wallpaper? You could make a feature wall. I would get rugs and cushions…maybe some throws/blankets.

Get photos and familiar things around you to make it feel more homely.

@bretonvirgniia:  I understand…then, in that case, I’d just hit up the local resale shops and repurpose items you find 🙂 I do it alot!

Another thing I did was go to Wal-Mart and buy large wooden letters that spell out a word (“joy”, “family”, etc) and paint them black. The look really good against the white walls 🙂

@bretonvirgniia:  Is there any counter space on the other side of the kitchen? If not, you might want to buy a small cart with castors and a chopping block on top that you can use in the kitchen, but also wheel it into the dining room or living room and use as a bar cart oif you are entertaining. It could also give you some extra storage space.

I’m with you. I wouldn’t bother painting if you are hoping to move upstairs soon (as long as the walls are in decent shape).

Do you have furniture already?  bedding?

What about vinyl sticky designs? They’re like $40 on etsy and reusable!

@bretonvirgniia:  I think with the choices you have shown, your place will be beautiful.

We have a milk chocolate colored sofa and change out our accent pieces twice a year. We use bright green and turquoise in the summer and burgundy in the winter.

You bedding set will work perfectly with the wall color in the bedroom.

It’s nice when there is some flow to the color scheme from room to room. You could pick up on the blue in the bedding set and add blue cushions to the living room, maybe a grey and blue area rug under the table and chairs.
