Is the plastic bag the store gives you OK?  My wedding is in April and so far, the dress looks fine.  But should I put it in something else??

Here is a link to this topic before and I am trying to find some more information for you right now!

Okay so the lay it flat or hang it seems to be an opinion but it does need to be in a cotton bag in a cool, dry, dark place! Good luck!

Thanks!!! I keep worrying about the plastic bag but I saw someplace that if you unzip it it should be okay. It's a very simple dress so not heavy and it is hanging from the inner loops.

I would take it out of the plastic bag. That is one thing they said that plastic was a no no. That you could even just buy a cotton sheet and wrap it around the dress and that was better then the plastic! Hope that helps!

Okay - I think I will order a cloth bag for it.  I don't know where I'd be able to keep it in my tiny apt in the sheet!

I did the sheet thing, I hung the dress on the hanger then wrapped a sheet around it and used bulldog clips to attach the sheet to the hanger. I stored it for a year and it was fine. If you have a 2 story house it's best to store it upstairs to avoid any dampness coming from the ground.

I have mine in the bag it came with and chillin' out in the closet. I pulled it our yesterday to check, and it's doing just fine!

i just checked on it b/c you guys made me nervous - it's fine.  but i'm gonna get a breathable bag so it won't be in plastic anymore.  i have been leaving the plastic unzipped a tiny bit as i read that somewhere.
