my boyfriend and I have been long distance at different colleges for 4 years now. He just asked me how I felt about taking a vacation, just us, over winter break. He threw out the Carribean, Disney, basically all the places I’ve been dreaming about going to my entire life. But because it’s so out of the blue, and I’m not with him every second, I don’t know if he’s feeling like this is *just* a vacation, or if he’s going to propose. We’ve talked about the future and getting married since we first started dating, and I think we’ve both assumed that we’d rather get engaged when we were young than have to wait. I just don’t know what to make of this. Any ideas/help?

First: Welcome to the Bee!
Second: It’s always so hard to know what guys are up, especially through a brief post, and especially if you two are long distance. If I were in your shoes I would just try to play to cool. He wants to go on a vacation- AWESOME! I know it’s hard not to think about a potential proposal, but try to enjoy yourself. You could always bring up the issue of a proposal during some other conversation to see where he stands on it, but some guys want it to be a surprise and keep their plans well hidden. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Just relax and enjoy your vacation. If he proposes that’s just icing on the cake!
I didn’t really have any signs as far out as your are now, besides that he just became more open to talking about a wedding, and wanted to save money.
He may get a little nervous while you’re actually on the trip, or try to hide his bag maybe

I agree with SapphireSun! Enjoy your trip and start planning what your step is after you graduate (and hopefully move near eachother).
