- Wedding: October 2013
So, I have to say right off the bat that I am NOT crafty at all. So whatever I end up doing for this particular project needs to be at the “beginner” level.
Our venue is our city’s historical society
so we’re embracing the history of the city as a “theme” for the wedding.
A number of years ago someone made these totally amazing images for the different neighborhoods: http://city.milwaukee.gov/Neighborhoodposters.htm so we are using those images as table numbers and on the escort cards. I also have the full size poster version of these images (15×22), and I’m a bit at a loss for what to do with them. Here’s an example of an image, if you don’t feel like clicking on the link:
Cocktail hour will be downstairs, and the dinner tables will be upstairs on the mezzanine (then dancing downstairs). My first thought was to somehow mount them on foamcore or something, and write out the names of people sitting at that table right on them, and put them by the escort card table. (how? I dont know… easels?) I also still need a card box and had a brief thought that I could do something with the posters for that (probably cut up somehow, as they would make a super big card box as-is). but what?
any tips/tricks/ideas for a non-diy bride?
