I am currently swooning over this style. However, the top is completely sheer. Not sure if this particular photo even does this dress’s sheerness a justice, and I would like to be covered up top for my wedding day lol.
I feel that putting an ivory/coordinating sweetheart-shaped lining beneath the bodice would completely change the look of this dress. However, if I went with a nude lining I fear that it will still look like it is see through. Even though I would know that I am not “showing” it will look like I am, you know?
Has anyone wore this dress, or similar? I assume no one went topless on their wedding day (though i am sure someone could prove me wrong hah), so how did you wear it?
Any plain old ideas would be helpful as well. Thanks ladies!
EDIT: I would line the skirt due to the really high slit and questionable sheerness of the skirt material. I don’t think it would take away form the integrity of the design in the same way that a blatant lining on the bodice would.

It’s beautiful. But I think the slits are a problem too. I love a classy bride! Those slits are too high for my taste.

You could line the entire top with a light blush colored lining so it doesn’t look nude, but doesn’t change the shape. The slit is pretty high, but I think you could probably have some of the inner layers tacked together so it doesn’t go so high on the day of.

@cls9q: Oh, I will add to the original post that I would be getting a lining for the bottom. I don’t feel that that would take away from the design at all and protect from any wardrobe mal-functions. Can we say embarassing? hah

@iceland_bride: Ok. That one definitely has a nude lining. Thanks for the link.
I will more than likely be having my dress made for me so the additonal photos are helpful.

@freshflowers: I thought I had seen a dress very similar to your Paolo Sebastian. It’s Watters Jacinda. You can see more pics in this thread http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/said-yes-to-the-dress-watters-jacinda/page/3
I had seen the Paolo dress before I ever saw the Watters one so im not sure which came 1st but I have a feeling that the former ‘inspired’ Watters 🙂
Hopefully the above thread hhelps you style your dress.

Id choose a different dress. You love it, except the top that needs changing so its less see through and the bottom due to the slits. Once you do that it will be a different dress. I’d just have one with the sexy see through leg showing style for a different occasion and have one you feel comfortable in for the wedding.
Sorry, I dont mean to be negative…but it sounds like its pefect except for all the details that make it unique.
