I'm still in that "first month" time frame....just wondering what emotions, drama (or lack there of), issues, events, etc. did you experience those first weeks of being newlyweds?

It was pretty much the same as normal and it flew by so fast!  We spent a week on the honeymoon and then a week sick after, so it was a quick two weeks after that.

Honestly, this entire first year has been bliss.  I am so happy to be married to my man.  He seems happier too.  There has been less drama since we got engaged/married.  Our biggest fight was when we should get married (I waited 4 years for a proposal) and that was solved when we actually tied the knot.  I know that not every year is going to be so stress-free, but this year has been especially happy.

Well, the first half of it, we were on our honeymoon.  Then we got back and our place was a disaster!  All the wedding gifts that had arrived while we were gone, all the leftover wedding stuff.  We spent the entire day after our return putting our apartment back together.  Then I spent the next couple of weeks completely organizing and getting rid of all traces of wedding planning.

Overall- it was a really happy time and we were still trying to get used to the idea that we were actually married!

I'm interested to hear newlyweds' feedback on this question too! West Coast Groom and I have lived together for several years, and we are going on a delayed honeymoon in September (getting married in a few weeks). So without the honeymoon, and having already lived together, I'm sort of expecting nothing to feel different, except no more planning (wahooo!).  Newly married bees, tell me more!

It was fantastic, as rosy mentioned, your place will be stuffed wedding gifts (good!) but just be deligent and open as soon as you get them and put them away or put in the "return" pile. Just make sure you don't save the boxes... they WILL take over.

One HUGE event was finding out we were pregnant ( I missed one pill people!) so that changed EVERYTHING, so I'm sure your 1st month will be alot different but still bliss :)

    Good luck!

    FANTASTIC!!!

We delayed our honeymoon until a month after the wedding and it was such a great decision!  The week after our wedding we spent recovering from sheer exhaustion.  The next week was Thanksgiving.  The folllowing week was the first really cold week of December - we spent it cuddling and opening wedding gifts.  We also went out and bought new luggage(!) and packed for Antigua :)

The next week we left for our honeymoon and returned home 11 days later :)  Sigh...

The week after we got back was Christmas.  By the time January came - we were so ready for our boring, average lives that we had before the wedding!!

It was a fabulous first month and every month gets better and better.

It was great :) We were on our honeymoon for three weeks of it! LOL. Spending all that time together was wonderful.

But the first "real" month of marriage was great too. The only hard thing was transitioning back into worklife. We really missed each other after spending 24 hrs/day together on the honeymoon. Nothing really changed for us though. We'd been living together for two years. The wedding was more of a legal thing - It didn't really seem to change anything for our relationship.

For us, the first month or two were nice but there were some routines to work out.  After about 2 months we entered our blissful newlywed stage... :)

It was really wedding bliss.  We waited about four days in between the wedding and honeymoon because we wanted to make sure we were relaxed for our honeymoon, we wer gone for a week and half too so when we came back, there was so much organizing to do with wedding gifts and all.

Wonderful!  It was so nice to have the wedding over and to just enjoy being married and making our home beautiful together.  The months after the first have been even better.

Our first month was awesome. After the honeymoon we were cleaning up the house and running all over the place. My best friend is getting married 5 weeks after we did, so it was right into her wedding events. We've been so busy that this will actually be our first weekend at home and we have plans the whole time. We haven't had a chance to sit down and breathe yet, but it's been perfect for us.
