I've heard lots of people say there were moonbeams, rainbows, twinkling stars and possibly unicorns when they kissed their FI/husband the first time.

Us, well we had a gross first kiss.  It was a long time coming and when he decided the time was right was when we both were sitting on his couch with terrible, horrible colds (and all the side effects of horrible colds).  Luckily, it didn't deter us from dating and trying again, which has been much better, but just wanted to know if the moonbeams was normal for people.

Hubs and I have different kissing styles, if that makes sense.  He seems to be into slobbering all over my face, and I'm not really a fan, haha.  And he complains that I'm not aggressive enough with my tongue!  We've been together six years and we're still not great kissers, haha, but we have chemistry in other departments!  :P

Um.. drunk in the basement of a frat house during a party.  That's right ladies.. and here I am seven years later happily married.  The Hubs is quite the good kisser to make that setting work : )

It was amazing! I was going to school out of state and had a couple of days of summer left until I had to pack up and go back. We were hanging out at the beach (just as friends) together late at night just talking and walking around and laughing. Around 3am we both looked up and it just happened. It was perfect :D

Well he was my first "real" kiss and it was so beyond awkward! After our first date I got out of the car really quick so he wouldn't try to kiss me since I was so nervous I was going to mess it up, he calls me back and I lean in he kisses me really fast and I run out of the car almost tripping and falling on my face lmao...our second date when he asked me to be his gf we had our first "romantic" kiss and we bumped teeth LOL to this day I still don't know how thats even possible. I have gotten pretty good since then though lol.

    @JennyChicago  LOL Oh my gosh!

Our first kiss was actually awkward. Our feelings were so strong for each other that I think it made us both nervous. We'd known each other two weeks and I was falling for him BAD...I think the fact we were so into each other already from just talking for a few weeks (neighbors) made us nervous. And we are not nervous people! We kissed for about 10 seconds-it wasn't bad, but not great....two nights later after our first "official" date we kissed and THAT was just mind-blowing!!!! Whoa....   :)

I went with amazing.  I was actually dating someone else at the time.  FI and I were very close friends who hung out alot.. He knew all about what was going on with me and my boyfriend and I was there for hin during his divorce.

One night, we met for dinner.  After dinner, he walked me to my car like he always did, but this time instead of just giving me a hug, he held the hug a bit longer than necessary then without letting go, looked me in the eye for a second, then kissed me.  I knew immediately that my relationship with my boyfriend was over and that this was serious.

I finally had to kiss him first because he was so shy, so it was awkward for me, I'm used to the man putting the moves on! But the kiss itself was really good :)

It was our second date, I had gone over to his house for dinner, and he smooched me in his kitchen about 2 minutes after I got there. Not the best kiss ever because I totally wasn't expecting it! He just couldn't wait any longer though. Kiss

@Neva - you made me think because we were sort of in a similar situation.  Both dating other people when we met.  And we didnt' kiss while we were dating other people but he did hug me before he went away on a trip and it sounds funny but it was an amazing hug.  It was probably hug that made it cement that my other relationship wasn't going to work.  Close to moonbeams and rainbows just from a hug.  So while our first kiss wasn't great and too much stuff going on with recent breakups and colds, our first hug was amazing.

@Neva: I was in a similar situation. Had pretty much ended things with the other guy but not officially. The kiss sealed the deal and I officially broke off the other relationship a couple of days later.

HAHA i actually voted "other"...he was trashed - we met at a dance club - and all I can remember is that while it wasn't bad - he would not stop biting my lips! i broke him of that pretty quick. :p

Ours was awkward! I didn't really know that he liked me (even though I liked him), and I totally wasn't expecting it when it happened, so I was  totally caught off guard, and it wasn't that great. It wasn't awful, but yeah ... awkward. It took us a while to get into our kissing groove, let's just say that :)

Hmm. I voted awkward. The setting was actually really cute, but our kissing styles took some adjusting for each other. We had been sort of seeing each other for a few weeks. It was unofficial dating, but I really wanted to be more official. So basically we both sort of knew but neither wanted to make the first move and we were both gawky and ugh we were actually college juniors, too, not high school! Can you believe it? Anyway, he dropped me off after another non-date-date, and he'd pulled around to leave and stopped by my car. I had waited outside to see him leave. He got out to check the size of my tires. We had talked about cars earlier in the night and I don't know those sorts of details. It was obvious he was looking for an excuse to stay and nothing charms a lady like tire size. Wink. So, we said goodnight again and leaned in for a goodnight kiss... and he kept his eyes open. I've never kissed with my eyes open! It was... weird. But I was so elated that I didn't care. And since we have adjusted more to each other, we are definitely expert kissers now!

our first actual kiss was amaaazing--it literally took my breath away. but that was kind of our second kiss--our first was super awkward. i leaned in to kiss him but he, believing for some reason it wasn't good to kiss on the first date, turned his head and it ended up like on the corner of his mouth, not quite a cheek kiss. it was really confusing because i thought the first date had gone so well and then he moved his head away! i guess i'm a more aggressive-first-date-kisser, haha...luckily he called me a couple days later :)

it was awful! Gross and sloppy lol. I nicely told him how I liked to be kissed after that and kissing him has been amazing ever since, but that first one was terrifying lol.

Um... we kind of had two semi-first kisses. First, not so bueno. Second, amazing.

#1 was on our 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) date after he walked me to the door. We were kind of physically awkward because he is 9 inches taller than me and I'd never dated anyone more than 2 inches taller than me... so I had no idea how to hug or kiss someone so tall! So I kind of went for this weird awkward hug thing and then he kind of went in for a kiss and it ended up as a peck and the whole thing was just awkward haha.

#2 was on our 8th (EIGTH!!!) date. We were sitting on the couch that time so height was not hindering us, and it was awesome. :)

haha it was totally awkward.  We had know eachother for a couple short weeks and we were laying on the couch, and he just looked over and pecked me, but I was rubbing my lips together (lips folded over my teeth...I don't know how to describe it haha) at that very moment!!!!

I actually voted awkward. lol  FI left for Iraq the day after our 2nd date.  He made himself promise he wasn't going to rush anything, so he didn't kiss me (and even though I usually make the first move, for some reason, I didn't kiss him).  By the time he came home 10 months later, we pretty much knew we were going to get married (we had been friends for 3 years at that point)...so, I flew out to see him and when he picked me up at the airport, we had our first much anticipated kiss after waiting 10 months. lol

We were both tipsy at a wedding and he was "flirting" with me.  He took my drink away and held it over his head where I couldn't reach it so I decided to "distract" him by kissing him.  It was a little awkward, but we made up for it later!

Is this cheesy if I say I knew I was going to marry him from our first kiss?? Well, I did...And it was the best kiss of my entire life :)

But it was in his nasty college dorm on probably dirty, unwashed sheets, so that was a little unpleasant, haha!

It was May 8, 2008 on a grassy hill by the river at his college. The stars were dancing off the water and we were laying side-by-side. I leaned over and we kissed for a few minutes. It was amazing, and the most beautiful setting ever. We then decided (because we were both moving out of town within a month) to take it slow and let whatever happens, happen.

p.s. I am NOT joking...that's actually really how it happened! Totally romantic :)

Ours was a total, straight out of a movie moment. We were camping with some friends on Spring Break, everyone else was asleep and we were laying in a sleeping bag in the back of out buddies truck looking at the stars. It was like... the 2nd day we really knew each other. We were just talking and the stars were shining and it was warm and I was snuggled up against his side and he had his arm around me. He looked down into my eyes for a minute and then we kissed.

    I was toast after that.

    haha, Moose, mine too!

He was a little heavy on the tongue, so I marked awkward. If nothing else, though, it showed me that he was eager, so I was able to give it a good interpretation. It was flattering. He just needed to get used to my kissing style, and he was a quick study!

We really don't have that many romantic stories about milestones in our relationship...but the first kiss?  That was THE most romantic moment, the most amazing feeling, the glue that holds EVERYTHING right in the world together!  For us it was Hollywood perfect and amazing...never had another moment quite like it!

I voted awkward. We were drunk, lol. I met up with him and his friends at a bar for his birthday and the whole night we were drinking and dancing. By the end of the night it was just him and me, and we sat down at someone's VIP table (not ours! haha) and he just grabbed me and kissed me. It was sloppy, hard, and literally a face suck. Good thing he's an amazing kisser sober. :)

I voted that it was awkward but only because it was our first (blind) date and I went to kiss him on the cheek, missed, and ended up kissing his neck.  It's all apart of my charm, I suppose.  He kissed me back but I don't remember how it was.

I was getting into my car after our first meet up and he leaned in to kiss me.  Well I wasn't expecting it and he was not a good kisser, his mouth was kind of hard and well...it just wasn't good.  But I knew I could teach him so I saw him again Laughing
