I’m a photographer who has avoided shooting weddings but now in order to pay for my own wedding (the irony of it all), I’ve decided to venture into the realm of wedding photography. I know I can produce quality images, no problem. I’m most worried about interacting with the bride/groom & bridal party, I have a bit of social anixety especially in high-pressure, stressful enivorments. To avoid making mistakes, I’d like to know your experience with your wedding photographer? Was it lovely and smooth sailing or were there some bumps along the way? Things you loved? Hated? Any random advice?

@uncltredpearl: Our photographer, J, was amazing. He knew exactly how to get my shy, anxious hubby to loosen up for our pictures. I’d say the most important thing is to make the couple feel at ease. Posing for pictures in front of a professional photographer is not something people do everyday. J knew exactly how to be firm, but fair with people interfering during our shoot. He told us EXACTLY how to pose, put what hand where, look here, not there, look at each other, look away, etc… He also took the time to meet our close family members before the wedding chaos started so that he would know who to focus the guest shots on. I would also suggest bringing along a friend or family member as an assistant. It may lessen your anxiety…
Hope this helped!
