My dog is weird!
We come home and she's been getting into the recycling bin (she doesn't anymore). This is what we found as soon as we walked in the door. Usually we would find cans thrown about but this was weird.

Then a few days later, I come home to this.

Yes, her dog bone is upright!!?!? I seriously, called the DH and asked if he was playing with the dog's toys. Yeah, that's just weird!
So what does your pet do that is just weird? Any pics?
My dogs are all weird!
Josie has a security blanket. (Actually several, she changes up which is her favorite every couple days.) She carries it around during the day and brings it to bed at night.
Rufus wears diapers, aka belly bands. He marks in the house, so he needs to wear them when he's running around loose.
Stormy is just an idiot. :) Or perhaps an evil genius that pretends to be an idiot. He spins in circles really fast whenever he gets excited.
We always joke our dogs have "issues", but we love them anyway! :)
I have a basset hound that drinks mountain dew if you leave the can unattended. He puts his mouth around it and turns it up!
My cat is vengeful. If you do something he doesn't like and then you turn around and walk away he will stalk you until your not looking and then bite you.
My cats are pretty weird. Here's a picture of me trying to wrap bridesmaid gifts, but they kept laying on the paper and eating the ribbon :-/
I was just saying earlier that my puppy is insane! She's a Pit and her name is Kali and I swear she lives up to that name... She runs like a psycho through the house for no apparent reason. She will make laps on the bed and then go down to her bed and run in circles chasing her tail... She will catch said tail and just sit there for the next few minutes chewing on it. There are more but I can't think of them right now.
yrret107 That is so funny! One time when our dog hadn't gotten fed yet, on a crazy busy day, we came home to find she had chewed up, in a neat little pile, some fake fruit that I used for drawing still life. It was so odd. She didn't eat it, it seemed more like a statement.
Destroyer... Kali is a Hindu Goddess of death. Well our puppy sure does kill paper towels, toilet paper, shoes... So yeah it kinda fits... I can't wait til she breaks outta the puppy stage.
I lol'd at the original post! That's pretty weird! My pug is weird too...she likes to sniff eyeballs. She will get up in your face and stick her nose into your eye socket and make these really loud smelling noises! It's super weird.
My persian cat is so weird, i think all cats are ! She sits like an inch away from the wall and stares at it like she is watching tv. Also, she loves sitting on plastic bags! And she is very modest when it comes to bathroom time, if she need to use her litter box and i am washing my face at the sink, she will wait until I leave.
Warhol lays on paper too, he also loves ritz crackers, he also can roll over on command, he also likes to "help" me draw when I am doing my fashion assignments on big paper.... oh and he licks too. Like a dog.
Our dog, Buddy, does what we call "Buddy-Dance"; that is to say, he will walk between your legs so his rear end is sticking out in the front. This means he wants you to scratch him above his tail and hips, (he does it on command, too, but if you're standing with your legs apart at all he may try to sneak through them, including RUNNING through them when he's playing fetch). When you scratch him, (or even just rest your hands on him), he stomps and kicks out with his back feet. I keep saying I need to make a video of it and send it to Planet's Funniest Animals or something. Hehehe!
Our cat will lay on the newspaper, etc. if you are paying more attention to it than him, but I think most cats do that. I always thought it was weird how he seemed to know exactly which comic strip or article I was reading and lay directly on top of that one.
My dog Lady will stomp on all of her vinyl squeaky toys, but the other night I happened to pick it up and throw it, and it landed exactly on her paw. She froze and didn't move for SEVEN minutes until my fiance called me into the room and I rescued her. Poor thing.
Angelo is a little umm...pudgy to say the least. When we leave the house, he jumps up into my mom's bed (which is kind of high), to watch us drive away from her window.
He always lays in bed with my parents for a few hours each night, but he can't get into the bed. He launches himself at it, and hits himself against the side because he apparently can't make it up into the bed. So he continually jumps into the side of the bed until one of them lifts him up into it. Apparently the gravity is different at night for him? lol
I'm adding a picture because he's just too cute :).
Our cats are so damn weird. The boycat LOVES hair elastics and goes on covert ninja missions at every opportunity to steal them from me. He goes INSANE when he sees them and will actually play fetch. He also likes to lie on his back with his legs splayed--DH and I call it the hooker pose.
Girlcat's not as weird, though she likes to bark at random things and loves being patted roughly on the butt and sides.
Our german shepherd will get mad and attack her tail sometimes. Like if she's eating and she sees it out of the corner of her eye, she's growl and snap at it. Sometimes it just annoys her I guess and she'll bark and growl at it until she catches it and realizes it's her own. Ha! Cracks us up. Also her top lip always gets stuck to her gums so she looks like Garth from Wayne's World. She just leaves it there and looks at us like she doesn't the joke when we're laughing at her. I have a pic somewhere. I'll have to find it!
@jo.lee: Too funny!!!
My cats are insane. We'll start with Smee, who was the best cat ever and I still miss him every day. He was an odd kitty. He would wake me up every morning standing on my chest or head and then just stare at me and make these little "Meh... Meh...." sort of meows until I opened my eyes. If I told him to "hop on pop" he would come lay down on me. He taught himself to open lever doors, so there was no such thing as privacy in the bathroom. If you locked the door he would freak out and shake the door handle until you opened it. He also had a lot of hairballs but sometimes throwing up would freak him out and if he threw up, he would run backwards or spin around in circles. Messy and sort of funny.
Peter snores, whines, and generally makes disgruntled noises in his sleep. He used to be very stand-off-ish but since Smee passed away he's become obsessed with DH and runs to curl up on his lap any time DH is stationary. He's currently curled up beside me with his legs wrapped around my left arm. He licked all the fur off his belly over the course of the last few years, so he's also partially bald. I think I've broken him of the habit though and it's finally starting to grow back.
Glory. Oh Glory. She bites, but if she's biting and you say "Glory, what's nice?" she'll stop biting and lick you instead. I don't know how she learned this. She plays fetch, and we'll often wake up with 4 toy mice in our bed. She wakes me up in the middle of the night because she has to be cuddled, loved, and petted right now. She also really hates it if you call her back feet her Georges. I don't know how I figured this out. So I named her front paws her Costanzas. It makes for a fun game ;)
@bakerella: LOL! Your cats sound so awesome. I wish ours were more receptive to our voices, though the girlcat does come when called (sometimes).
@Mrs Grape: Our older cat Peter LOVES rough housing! I swear he's a dog in the wrong body!!!
@Mrs Grape: My cats always come when I call them. Smee was awesome for that actually. Actually, my cats don't really ever stray far from me, so I don't have to call them very often. But they know when they do there's usually treats or something fun on the other end so there's good incentive to come.
Peter knows how to sit on command using a hand signal too. I forgot about that one. I was inspired by my ex and his well trained dog ;)
Our dog LOVES bottle lids...he will sit there and chew them 24/7...and he also love to cuddle, he sleeps right in between us and has to be touching both of us! His name is Brinkley :)
@Lindsay12.31.2010: My lab LOVES drink/water bottles!! If there's one sitting within her reach, you better watch it because she will snatch it up and take of before you know it! She doesn't care if it's full or empty--she's convinced a bottle is HERS! Lol
And here's my Lucy-bug because she's so cute! :)
Luckily Toby is small enough he can't really carry them around if they are empty. It is hysterical though. Here are a few more things he loves...
My little guy loves to burrow under this ratty old afghan that we'd LOVE to get rid of but can't, because he won't settle down until he's all wrapped up in it.

Our dog (Indiana) refuses to eat his food out of the bowl. He dumps it all on the ground first, then proceeds to eat it.
Everyone's furbabies are so cute. :D Here's one example of how Dorian T. plays dead...

my dog loves to lick the walls. yup she licks them. over the summer we did some remodeling and there was drywall dust all over and this is where it began.
Weird things Lucy does:
1) if she's upset that we've left her alone, she'll move my shoes. Only my shoes. she'll move one to, say, the middle of the living room area and one in to the bedroom if we haven't closed it off. She doesn't destroy them, just moves them.
2) she's afraid of the weirdest things - today, she was deathly scared of a snowman in front of another building.
3) she picks up trash on our walks and treats it like a trophy. Milk cartons, bottles, packaging stuff from mail order items that she finds. They're trophies.
she's so weird but #1 and #2 are the weirdest because she's a 100lb baby.
@jindc: Our puppy Mac picks up trash on walks as well! A few months ago he picked something up and I was unsure of what it was and couldn't really get a good look because I was walking 3 dogs at once. He proudly carried it the whole way home, where he proceeded to drop it by FI's truck (I guess as a present) Turns out, it was a dead bird. Gross!
I have given all 3 of our dogs professions for their next life! Mac will be a garbage man (for above reasons!), Lola will be a beautician as she loves to watch me put on make-up and loves when I put the powder on her chubby cheeks! And Savannah- she is going to be an outstanding chef! She is a 54 pound beagle who is more obsessed with food than anyone/anything I've ever seen before. She sits in the kitchen while we are cooking and she stares so intently, it is like she is memorizing how to make it in the future!
I want to leave work now to go play with them!!
My kitty Smudge eats EVERYTHING. Not only does she like the normal people foods that cats usually like such as chicken, salmon, lobster, etc. but she'll also eat pasta, popcorn, tofu, dal, peas, tomato sauce, soba noodles, bread, butternut squash, pretty much anything we're eating, she begs for. She might be part dog.
@Mrs Grape: My kitty also loves hair ties. And bottle caps, she goes crazy for bottle caps. She prances through the house with either a hair tie or a bottle cap in her mouth almost all the time.
Here she is, not doing anything particularly weird, just chillen on a bag.
We have 3 dogs, and they all have their quirks. But, our youngest, smallest dog (puppy) is definitely our weirdest. Lol! She is yorkiepoo, but thinks she's much larger. She is very bossy to us and the other dogs. And, she thinks nothing of getting the biggest item in the house & dragging it to the spot of her liking. Here is a pic of her with my daughter's full-size blanket that she dragged from downstairs up to my daughter's room, up on the bed & put it in place where she could lay in the warm sun.....seriously!!!!!! She's only 5 1/2 pounds & amazes us daily!
Conner is the wierdest kitten. He loves the toilet flushing! Everytime anyone flushes the toilet, he runs into the bathroom & stares at the toilet, then jumps on the rim & watches the water fill up. I'm not sure how he got this fascination, except he did live in the bathroom for about the first 3 months of his life.

Satine loves playing inside pillow cases. Then she goes nuts and barks like a mad dog. It's really cute and funny. She's a maltese, btw since you really can't see her.
My dog gets a mouth full of food, carries it to another room, spits it out and then eats it. He will not eat directly from the bowl. Oddly enough, my sister's dog, who was adopted from the same rescue agency does the same thing. If we are both at my parents' house with our dogs, once we leave, my parents dog will do it for the next few days!
