@alreadyawife:  My e-ring is 3mm wide with channel-set diamonds and a 1ct round center, and my wedding band is a 6mm wide heirloom band with a row of diagonal channel set diamonds!

It looks JUST right (though I have very long fingers). They go half way to the first knuckle!

I have really small hands & figures, I’m a 4.5.  My sapphire is apx. 1 carat & the band pretty much matches the width.  I love the look of it, but I do sometimes wish I went with a smaller one, like on hot days or whenever it might get a little tight under my finger.  Otherwise, I love it.  I hope this helps!

@alreadyawife:  My diamond is a 1.03 carat round – about 6.5 mm.  I have a plain white gold setting, which I think is about 4 mm.  Here’s a picture –

@squishee:  This is lovely!!

@alreadyawife:  I think you’re safe with 3 or 4 but I probably wouldn’t go wider than that. Also consider that you can get a band that slightly tapers towards the stone but is wider otherwise the rest of the way around. 🙂

My center stone is 1 carat, the engagement band is about 7mm on the side and gets to be 9mm towards the top.  The two wedding bands are 2mm each.  I wear a size 8.5.

My ERing has a 0.80 Feature Stone… but when we bought it they told us that the Cathedral Setting would fit anywhere from a 1/2 Carat to a Full Carat… give or take a bit.

The remaining stones on my ERing are channel set… 3 lines

And my Sparkly WBand is channel set as well.

My ERing is about 10 mm wide on top and narrows down to 4 mm on the bottom

My WBand is about 2.5 mm wide

Hope this helps,

@wrkbrk:  thanks!  I always thought our e-rings were fairly similar, I was checking yours to see what kind of wedding band you pair with it, I’m on the hunt!

I would stick to the 3 mm so that your centre stone still has oomph and looks proportionate to the rest of the ring. I am biased though, as I only like wider rings when they have plain metal bands, I feel that channel set + wide = clunky

Personally, I would go for 3 mm. 4 mm could look fine too, but I prefer thinner shanks. I wouldn’t go larger than 4 mm for a 1ct since if it was thicker than that it would be almost as wide as the diamond.
