We're having a Taskykake table set up at the end of the evening..... predictable, but I don't think anyone will complain ![]()
We went to a wedding last year where they had a similar Philly-inspired late-night snack..... soft pretzels! It was great, but the logistics of keeping them warm (because they are only good if they're warm!!) would be too much trouble so we're going the Tastykake route.
I'd also have loved to do Philly cheesesteaks cut up real small, maybe as hors d'oeuvres!
A water ice cart would be another fun idea if you could afford it..... everyone has "Italian Ice" but only Philly has "Water Ice" hehe.
we are incorporating a lot of philly things into our wedding but then again it's in the middle of old city so you cant really avoid it! we're doing soft pretzels, and have a bit of a philly theme on our diy invites (including liberty bell etc) but its not BOLD its subdued. the design has now taken on a life of its own with favors & seating cards, and we're taking our pictures in independence park. we're doing philly themed oot bags but havent decided what to put in them yet (we've changed our mind on oot bags many times). i think we may do mini cheesesteaks for our welcome party. i dont eat cheesesteaks, or taskycakes for that matter, but i dont mind feeding either to our guests! at first i was concerned about including so many philly things, but it can be done tastefully!
My friend Carolyn who got married in Philly incorporated this skyline into some of her paper stuff...

Hello all!
I'm wondering how -- if at all -- you plan on featuring Philly in your wedding plans. (Anything from table numbers named after spots around the city, to having Tastykakes for your OOT guests is fair game.) I'm a major league Philly Fanatic -- though not quite as intense as the Phillies' own big green guy, I heart the city intensely -- and want to hear your fantastic ideas!
