Like Reese. Because that’s how Rhys is pronounced!

I really love the name Rhys.  I would pronounce it like “Reese” as in Reese Witherspoon.

I would pronounce it Reese, simply because I recognize the name and know how it should be pronounced. That being said, I love the name Reese, but dislike that version of it.

I pronounce it like “Reese” because I know that’s how it’s pronounced. However, I could see how some people would pronounce it like “rice”.

I’ve never seen Rhys before and before reading the comments I thought for sure it would be “Rice” or “Rise”. If you like the name Reese why not just spell it that way? I feel like your child will be forever correcting people their entire life.

Reese, but because I know a little boy with that name. When I first saw it I admit thought “Ryes” like rye bread.

misswaiting:  I’ve met 2 male Reese’s before. I just wouldn’t want my kids having to constantly correct people. One of my friends named her son Esai and now she gets pissed because nobody ever says it right lol. I’m like well….

I thought rice or ris at first as well. I’ve never seen the name before but once you say it’s Reese it totally makes sense.

Rhys is the traditional Welsh spelling.

I’ve always figured Reece is the male form, while Reese is female. What about Reece?
