I'm doing alright. I have some big things that aren't done, but it's all getting there.

We still don't know who's making the cake for the wedding day or the barbecue... but if the family friend doesn't agree to it (she's been out of town for a long time), we'll just pick one up at the grocery store.

    We've got to...

    pay our photographer.

    get my dress steamed.

figure out what to do for flowers (DIY, i'm thinkin.)

    design some announcements

send a little "formal invite" to our parents for the ceremony.

make a new sash for my dress (the one I just made isn't gonna cut it)

do a lot of stuff on the house to make it presentable to my parents.

pick up Mr. MJ's ring (it's taking longer to make than expected).

Mr. MJ took his dress pants to have them altered yesterday - they'll be done at the end of the week.

Our wedding's in the first part of september so we need to hustle! AND we're back to school next week too! Surprised

I still have a bit to finish but most of my projects are just about finished. I am getting so excited as it is getting closer. This weekend will be my bachelorette party :) and my hair and makeup trials!

    Good luck ladies!

Oh yes, I forgot placecards and seating charts.  Ugh!! Plus I do need to get my dress steamed plus my veil...but I can't do that until I get to cincinnati the week before the wedding since I have to travel with my dress (what a nightmare). Congrats to everyone for being so on top of it!

@Miss MJ: wow, with school starting that's rough.  Sounds like you have it fairly under control though! I liked your sash too, but I understand wanting to make a new one.  Are you going to stick with the green though?

@Roddybride: have fun at your parties and trials!!! :) It will be so much fun! (don't forget to show us pics!)

@KellyV: wow, so on top of it all! Good work!

I'm super excited too and a little nervous that I'm forgetting something...

    I still need to:

Pay vendors (photographer, venue, baker, band)

Order flowers from SamsClub (240 Gerber Daisies for $200!)

    Finalize cermony/reception music

Order kegs & purchase wine/beverages for reception

Buy finger foods for guests to munch on for the hour that we're taking photos

Finish a couple DIY projects (decorating flower girl basket, poms & reserved ceremony/reception table signs)

    Wrap bridal party/parents/FI gifts

    Send out rehearsal dinner invites

We're getting there!! Not much left to do!

Yes! Our plans are finally coming together as well. I have had a lot of help from the men in my life, yay for them!

My Dad has taken care of the all the arrangements for the reception this week, finalized them. He has contracts with the tent company and the city. Arranged to have Dept Public Works rig the electric and make sure the bathrooms are open (we're partying in a city park). He even has been scouting around town and taking pics of other people's tent set ups so he has lots of ideas how to decorate the day before my wedding!

My fiance decided to take the guest list and the church by the horns. He said to me, "You're good at crafting, I'm good at talking to people. Let me do all the work with the ceremony and getting our ceremony participants on board with what they need to do, you take care of the DIY decorations." So far this week he has contacted the church about finalizing the plans and has sent checks to all the various people that need to be paid. He has been in contact with the readers for the ceremony, and has pretty much drafted our seating chart. He has also chased down all 40+ of our delinquent rsvp'ers and has gotten the 'maybes' down to 10!

    What we have left:

-Print Programs (still waiting for seal from Etsy seller who is going to get some negative feedback >__<). Program is designed already, yay!

-Print maps and prepare OOT packages

    -Finalize seating chart.

-about 20 more tissue paper poms! I am up to about 40!!

-one more styrofoam tissue paper pom... ugh o.O

-create and print signs for food tables and for alcohol table (no one under 21!!!)

-create all flower arrangements and bouquets, but can't do this until a couple days before the wedding!

-make our favors! We are about 25% done... eeep!

Ok now I am starting to stress out! haha

I'm slowly plugging along at my to-do list. Work is super busy (I am on a business trip this week and the next three weekends...not so condusive to an upcoming wedding!)

I finally ordered our cake topper and finalized our ceremony music yesterday!

Programs are being printed this week and I need to assemble them when I get back in town next week.

Need to do seating chart and make table numbers (on the to-do for next week).

Since we don't live several hours away from the city of the wedding, a lot of little details can't be done until the week prior to the big day. Once I get in town, I will assemble our OOT bags and finish our favors. I will also get my dress steamed that week.

I need to pick up our rings soon as well.

That's all I can think of for now...I'm sure I'm forgetting something right now!

Anyone else have work getting in the way of the last-minute to-do's?

I can hardly believe it's only 39 days away!!

Hooray for all the September brides!

With just over 3 weeks left I have the most butterflies I've EVER had.

    I'm currently working on:

    DIY guest book

    Finishing the favors

DIY Program Centerpiece accessory thingy. LOL  I haven't come up with a name for it.

Seating-  By far the hardest part of the wedding planning process.

Packing for the honeymoon (I'm indecisive)

And sometime between now and September 12 is my shower and bach party which I'm not allowed to know about.  I'm getting kidnapped on the day of and taken to wherever it is my BM's and sister plan on taking me. Hahahaha

Good luck ladies!  And congrats again!

Woo hoo for September 26 brides!

It feels like as soon as we cross one thing off our list, two more things pop up. We did a LOT beforehand and tried to do everything ahead of time that we could, but obviously, some thing couldn't wait:

    - Pick up dress and suit from tailor.
    - Finalize seating chart
    - Favor tags
    - Order candy for candy bar/finalize candy bar signs
    - Make tissue paper pom poms for candy bar decorations
    - Call up any RSVP slackers!
    - Send out final vendor payments, and organize "tip" envelopes
    - Order OOT bag snacks, assemble
    - Final venue walk-through
    - Confirm vendors
    - Wedding photos: we're asking all the married couples attending to send us their wedding day photo, along with some words of wisdom, so we can display them around our reception room. We have to print them all out, put them in frames and print out all the signs.

Phew, it seems like so much, and I think I'm missing stuff.

    cheerful    September 2009 - eloped

We've got to find a restaurant for the post-ceremony dinner and the one we called last night is already booked for its private room. I'm super bummed and a little annoyed (okay, a lot, but I'm trying not to show it) with FI for not investigating restaurants sooner.

The florist hasn't responded to my emails in... forever.

The wedding party (all four people) hasn't made arrangements to come.

I have to pack all of our belongings so we can move to Europe the week after marrying.

I need to get a visa. (Ack!)

I need to find hotel rooms where we can get ready.

I only have 19 days to go and so much to do!

*pay photographer, baker, DJ, florist, minister

*seating chart (yikes, it is quite a challenge)

    *make place cards

*buy bridesmaid gifts (I'm paying for their hair and makeup, it getting them earrings enough? I'm so stressed out, it all adds up sooooo fast)

*figure out when everyone's plane gets in, how I'm going to arrange airport pickups for everyone is beyond me!

    *finalize ceremony music

    *hair and makeup trials

    *final (hopefully) dress fitting

Wow. I'm overwhelmed after writing that list!

    Here's our list.

-Final payments to DOC, venue, photographer and officiant.

    -Finalize ceremony and reading.

-Final walk-through with caterer & DOC to decide which linens and how many tables/chairs we'll need.

    -Decide which make-up I'll need.

-Do escort cards once I finally get all my frickin' RSVP's back!

    -Mail out RD invites.

-Decide what we're doing for alcohol and purchase it.

-Buy last gifts for BMs, and gifts for parents.

-Give money to my sister so she can get dessert, cupcakes from a bakery in Delaware, and her co-worker is picking up the rest at a bakery in western Maryland.

-Pack for the honeymoon & give keys to FMIL so she can look in on the cats while we're away.

-Get marriage license, either this week or next.

    I think that's the bulk!
