To vent about this morning - My son and I got up late. He has his first school field trip today to a pumpkin patch...couldn't find the directions or the time schedule for the life of me. With a red-embarassed face, I had to call my son's teacher and ask her for the details again. Of course - we have snow in the forecast today, but it's sunny right now...comfortably dressing a toddler for sun and snow is almost impossible.

Ok - we're dressed, but now he won't eat. He will be gone all day, with no food, and an empty stomach. I'll try a glass of milk - NOPE, denied. He dumped it on the table.

Not only did he dump milk on the table, he had to catch the corner of the table on his sweatshirt and take a dive...now his ankle hurts and he's crying.

Pantless, I run to the dryer, with a sobbing child in tow, to grab my work clothes. I didn't have them in the dryer long enough...they're still damp. I'll just put them on and turn my heater up high in the car.

Trying to plan ahead - I set my mail to be sent out next to the door, along with a snack for the kiddo and lunch for me. One thing accomplished...on to the next task...

Lets try brushing teeth and doing hair - ha! He won't let me comb his hair. Oh well, he can pull off the messy surfer look for one day. He then proceeds to spit toothpaste down the front of his shirt and tries to wipe it up with my work shirt. Super. Luckily I had a back-up plan and quickly changed his shirt and mine.

We're still running late. With tears still in his eyes and an empty stomach, and me in wet pants frosting over, we bolt out the door...without my mail, lunch, and snack for the boy. Oh well, I guess I can't be 100% all the time!

I'm at work now. And so far, I'm having a better day! (Thanks to WeddingBee!) The kid is off picking pumpkins and I'm drooling over wedding inspirations.

    How was your morning?!

Hahaha nurseheather30! I was a horrible teenager - if she's anything like me, I'll stick with the toddler! I hope you have a better day!

Yup - been there.  Sorry you're having one of those days.

Spent yesterday at the counselor with 3rd grade son, who is like a sinking ship with school, had to give my X the low-down.  I was really proud of myself, stayed calm, was pleasant and polite - Why should I expect the same????   I'm going through this whole roller-coaster with the kids 7 days a week and you are complaining about your 4 days a month???  Am I working on it?  Are you kidding?

So X proceeds to tell me "I told you this was going to happen"  Me: "What?"  X:  "I told you that kids that don't grow up in a house with both their parents will have problems."  Me:  (with 80,000 things in my head that I WANT to say/scream) "Well, yes, X, you did tell me that, but I decided that teaching them that love and marriage are not about knock-down-drag-out screaming fights was more important."

Son forgot his folder 2 days in a row - so I have NO IDEA what is going on at school. Hella crazy morning, forgotten math work, snack, and an upset about shoes.  Emails to teachers.  One responded - i need to process this and digest this information.  Whoa.  My kid is THAT kid.

    Some days just royally suck.

Ah, the joys of parenthood! I guess I have alot more to expect the older he gets! Querida - good luck with your kiddo - it may not feel like it, but it seems like you've got patience, and as long as you have that - you can get through anything! (a lightbulb dings above me) Maybe I should take my own advice! Good luck and take care!

:D The joy!! This morning I woke up on time only to discover that my son has a stash of dirty school clothes in a corner and the only pants to wear have a paint stain on them (oh well) he's an artist :D.  So I get him dressed give him a hug and kiss, take him to the bus and then throw my clothes in the dryer.  I get a call from work saying hey aren't you supposed to be here now (umm now I get there at 10, no you get there at 9, so i jump up only to run to the dryer to find out i didn't turn it on!!) I too wore damp pants today, but I ironed them so they were warm on my bum!!

I also managed to loose my comb so I used my fingers and loosely combed through it (thank god for my relaxer). And out the door I headed.

I'm not a mom, but these stories are cracking me up/providing me with great birth control. I know I'm nowhere NEAR mature/selfless enough to have kids right now. You moms sound like you're doing a great job, though.

@nurseheather, your post made me laugh. "My teenage daughter came home and is now annoying the crap out of me." I have a feeling my mom thought the same thing during my teen years.
