@Ottawa - i was going to buy it on that online sale but it kept crashing (still crashing 2 days later) so gave up and bitched and moaned about it to hubby and he found an alternative supplier at an even better price! down here these cost about $700aussie ($600US) plus shipping but he got it down to under $600aussie inc delivery :)

actually scratch that - I'm not sure if they are mormon. They are polygamous and it is due to religious beliefs
My mom bought me one last year - it is pale blue. I have used it ONCE! :)
@Wildstyle, yes to Big Love down here. God honest truth, last night i saw an ad for it and i asked hubby if he would want 3 wives and he said "why, one is bad enough!"

$600 US, eeek. And I thought it was bad in Canada-- $350 for the basic model (you can get them for $199 in the US).
i would go crazy without mine! Try the barefoot contessa recepie for marshmellows- you can only make them with a stand mixer and they are super easy and impressive!!!

gorgeous mixer!! i have often flirted with the idea of investing in one, but then i feel like i'd be too lazy to clean it and stuff. heh.
and wildstyle: YES, the show is about a polygamous sect of mormons, and it is THE GREATEST SHOW EVER. basically, the only three shows i watch are dexter, say yes to the dress, and BIG LOVE, and big love is by far my favorite. everyone should watch it. :D

I discovered today that there is an ice cream maker attachment for a KitchenAide.

@Monitajb - there is a lady on youtube that will go thru the process of making it with the attachment. the boiling the cream bit worries me but im considering it
I got one for Christmas! I love it. We also got the ice cream attachment, which is amazing and super simple to use - best ice cream ever. Tomorrow I'm attempting a layer cake and Swiss buttercream frosting, completely from scratch - no way I'd attempt that without the KitchenAid!
PS - they also make a shredder/slicer attachment - it's amazing. I love this machine, and I've only had it for a couple weeks!
@S&C. www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au but today is the last day of their extra discount sale - they go back up to $649 tomorrow. peters of kensington currently have them for $632 plus shipping but they didnt have the blue in stock and i know david jones hav them for $725
I was at Costco today and they had a red one for about $300 if anyone is wanting one for pretty inexpensive!
