My husband went to the hospital to get a lateral flank hernia repaired. I dropped him off at the hospital at 9 am and was to return at 3 PM to pick him up. I get to the hospital and am parking my car when I get a call from the surgeon who said the hernia was much worse than expected and instead of discharging him, he was admitted to the surgical ward instead! Here he is getting oxygen, three kinds of painkillers, antibiotics and breathing treatments with two additional meds in them. Total shock! This little "routine" operation has turned into a major deal! Poor baby is in so much pain and his incision is huge! He's not in critical condition, thank God but I am very worried!!!
