Do you plan on (or did you) choosing matching wedding bands? I’ve always assumed I’d want matching bands, but now I’m not so sure. We’re going to order in some bands from Zales and “play dress up” and see which looks best with my engagement ring. Fiance wants a plain band. I know I’d like our bands engraved on the inside with our wedding anniversary (my parents did that and I love the idea).
Anyway, matching bands? Yay or nay?

Nay for me. I don’t dress like my Fiance, so why would I wear the same jewelry?

Yay. My Darling Husband and I have matching bands.

We ordered matching bands. They should be in tomorrow! The band is fairly think on my e-ring, 3mm with 3 emerald cut diamonds, so getting a plain matching white gold band was a no brainer for me. Fiance tried a few things and happened to like the white gold as well so it just worked out that way.

I was kinda “meh” on the whole thing and figured we’d see what happened when we looked. Fiance found a ring he LOVED that is a brushed gun metal colour and I chose a semi-eternity band to match my e-ring in white gold. I think Yay to matching bands, but only if it doesn’t look silly with your e-ring and your Fiance is okay with the matching band.

We don’t have matching bands. Didn’t even consider it. I wanted an eternity band and do they even make eternity bands for men? lol. I did almost get a 2nd band to match his because the store that had the ring he wanted only sold it in his and her sets. I would’ve used that as a travel ring since it was plain. We ended up getting his ring elsewhere though.

Ours match but only because of the coincidence we both wanted palin bands. I say matching bands yay if you have the same taste, nay if you don’t!

His is a comfort fit band the same width and metal as my half eternity band. Matchy enough for me! But not the same ones, no.

Well, originally our bands matched. Not really planned that way, but both were sapphires and white diamonds in white gold (my band had a small pear sapphire with pave, his all pave). The wedding set I got after we were married (I did not originally have an ering) also matched with a sapphire centrestone and scattered diamonds.
I am getting a new set due to allergies and going to yellow gold with moissanite and champagne/cognac melee. My husband still has, and absolutely loves, his original band. So no matching here! We are both okay with it. Yellow gold is far more flattering on me than white, and the reverse for him, plus he just loves the design of his ring.
So…I am neither yay or nay. I am “whatever works for you”!

Ours aren’t even close! He wanted a black titanuim ring. I went with something that matched my ring, white gold with a little bling.

My fiancé wants a stainless steel band… So no!

Fiance and I very seriously considered it, but we can’t agree on a style we both like 🙁

Ours will match other than the fact that mine is 4mm and his is 7mm–both yellow gold. I was originally going to get rose gold–so it would match my e-ring, but I’m not going to wear that anyways after the wedding unless it’s a fancy occasion, so eh. He wanted matching bands, so I went along with it. If I really want a matching ring to go with my e-ring at like a cocktail party, I can get a little rose gold ring for cheap for a temp thing.

We’re not matching. My grandmother gave me diamonds to use in my band, and Fiance didn’t want anything fussy in his, so mine is a 5-stone diamond band in platinum and his is Tungsten (good thing he didn’t want platinum, a ring in his size would’ve cost a small fortune!).
Funny story- I had a friend in law school who was Peruvian, and in her family the wedding bands always matched. She wanted a diamond and sapphire band, and her father caught wind of it and bought their wedding bands- matching diamond and sapphire channel set wedding bands. Her husband thought it was so sweet he couldn’t say no, so even almost ten years later he still wears his diamond and sapphire channel set wedding band.
