So, I feel really horrible. I went to DB with Future Mother-In-Law and tried on a few dresses. I found one that I really loved but I didn’t want to say anything until I tried on the last dress. So, I try on last dress and she started bawling an hugging me before I even walked out of the closet. Long story short, she bought the one SHE loved. (It’s on a special order reservation). So the dress hasn’t been ordered yet…. I want to see if I can put the payment towards the dress I REALLY loved. I feel horrible but the dress isn’t me at all. Should I see if DB will put the payment towards the other dress, or basically am I out of luck?

The david’s I went to wouldn’t let me return items, but if for some reason I didn’t like it before it was altered I could take it back and get a credit for something else. But it’s all based on which store you went to.
It doesn’t hurt to ask, though!

FutureMrsGurley: I think it would be more mature to tell your Future Mother-In-Law that you prefer the other dress and ask her if she is willing to transfer the order to the one you love. The alternative is to refund her money and pay for your own dress.

julies1949: You are right. Even though she told me to be sure the dress is what I want, I saw the look on her face and it made me so happy. I will talk to her so she isn’t off guard on my wedding day.
