I’ve tried it a few times, but never managed to stick with it for more than a few weeks.  I do try to incorporate pushups into my regular workout routine though!  Good luck reaching 100!

Keep it up girl! I’m doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and it’s amazing. Only 20 minutes a day and you’ll see real results.  I’m still doing girlie push-ups though.

holy cow – 100 push ups???? Even at my most fit that’d be a stretch. But push ups are bad-ass, so maybe I’ll try this challenge!

I cannot do a real pushup… just the girlie ones… and that is fine with me.

My co-workers and I look at the 100 push-up challenge to see what it was about. It looks rather impractical though… the metrics the guy uses seem difficult to start out with. You’re still doing 100 push-ups a day…. just doing them in sets of 20 or more (which I still find to be challenging since most people can only do a few). My friend has tried it as well and has the same sentiments. Good luck to those who are trying this out! I’ll just be satisfied with me doing 15 in a row. 🙂

I keep intending to do it, but never get around to it.  I can do 30 (full-body) pretty easily though, which I am ridiculously proud of.

I tried the challenge and found it very difficult. Back when I was weight training more regularly, I had worked up to 50 pushups at once. Now I can do around 30-35. I found that the number of pushups seems to increase beyond my capability. I would do one workout succesfully but then the next one I couldn’t complete the number in the third set.

I’d love to be inspired by someone successfully completing this. Anyone know of anyone who did this?

I haven’t looked at the challenge but back when I was playing high level hockey and rugby (provincial and national) we used to have to do fitness testing all the time.

In 2005, in hockey class I did a 1 min push-up test and completed 52 full (from the toes, chest had to be less than one fist height from the floor) push-ups in one minute (I beat all the boys heehee)

In 2007, we did 1 min push ups, 1 min rest, 1 min push-ups and I scored 82 and 76 in the first and second minutes respectively.

It is possible (I never did 100 straight, just the 1 minute tests) you just have to work on it. The most important aspects are core strength, tricep strength and endurance, but don’t neglect your other workouts or exercises as they will help in achieving your goals!
