Kafrine:  very nice! I like these and the lat/long. coordinates of your ceremony location too. We don’t have ones, but thought it would be fun for an anniversary…

Kafrine:  I love that idea!!  My FI said he never wants a tattoo (I have 3) so I wouldn’t push the issue.  I even suggested he get a tattoo ring since he works with his hands so much but he didn’t even like that idea!!

No matching tats for us. And probably never will.

Can I ask how you decided to get the “14 versus 2014?

Kafrine:  We did this for our first anniversary! It’s the face of the watch my husband wore at our wedding, set to 02:23.13, our wedding date. Mine became a pocket watch on my hip, he has just the watch face on his bicep. I love your roman numerals–simple and special.

That was…brave of you two. Personally, I’d never, ever in a trillion years get a matching tattoo with anyone, especially a spouse. Divorce does happen so it’d suck if your wedding date tattoo outlasts the marriage. At the very most, I’d get a coordinating tattoo that is still personal to me and has nothing to do with the wedding date, spouse’s name etc, but to each his own.

countingstars:  I don’t want to speak for Kafrine:  but I know DH and actually talked about this. Our relationship is solid and no thoughts that it’ll end. But, as you said, divorce happens. My feeling actually is that even if it ends, our marriage happened and at one time we were very happy, hopeful, looking towards the future, etc. I wouldn’t want to lose that or pretend it didn’t happen. I think his thoughts were similar. We also fight well (I know that sounds stupid, but it’s true) and I 100% trust him that even if we did break up he would not screw me over or anything and I would not be left with nothing but bad memories.

Kafrine:  not covering it up- we were married 10 years and had a lot of good times. Also, it is a picture- not personalized in any way so I’m fine keeping it.

My FI would look ridiculous with a tattoo but I’m tempted to get one to commemorate the wedding,  maybe one of the floral pattern on my dress.

eeniebeans:  totally off topic, but is that Freddie in your pic? My FI is practically in love woth him. I’m not sure I’d have stood a chance if Freddie was still alive!

We were thinking of doing kind of like a set. You know how some art is part 1 and part 2 and they’re not the same picture, but they go well together and without? If that makes sense lol. Or maybe a picture of a painting we really like and break it up into two sections for each. Dh would be happy getting my name tattooed on him and although I love him I don’t want him to regret it if we were ever to split up.
