If YOU had the tummy bug id say call the midwife or your dr but this is not pregnancy related. Call a normal doctor

Since you aren’t sick yourself, I’d say just wait. Don’t call. Drink lots of fluids, wash your hands like crazy, and try not to get too close to hubby. Hopefully nothing will come your way.

Agreed, unless your husband is pregnant himself there’s absolutely no need to call your OB. Unless YOU start getting sick and #1 have a fever of over 103. But even if you have the stomach flu you don’t need to call the dr unless it’s extremely severe (like i said, extremely high fever).

@Wellington Bride:  If it makes you feel better, I’m 14 weeks and I had a stomach bug weekend before last, I was throwing up, plus other stuff if you get my drift… and extremely nauseous all weekend. I also had chills and probably a fever the first night as well as body aches. I didn’t call my dr until 3 days had passed because I STILL felt nauseous and got nervous I had Listeriosis or something. They said it’s just because when you are pg your tummy is extra sensitive, and it takes you longer to get ovwer things. If it happens to you, stay hydrated even if it’s hard, and take tylenol.

Even if you get it, you should be okay.  They are pretty well protected in there.  Unless your fever gets really high, don’t call.

@Wellington Bride:  Thanks, turned out when I came back to work Monday i wasn’t the only sick one that weekend!

I understand, it’s new territory, and you  just really don’t even know what you’re dealing with sometimes! Your body reacts so strangely to pregnancy it’s hard to know if something is wrong or just another weird PG thing. But try to relax, if something is wrong or you get sick and it’s TOO sick, you’ll know.

@Wellington Bride:  This is a link to the database we use at work on the NurseLine.

http://www.healthlinkbc.ca

While you are pregnant, you should start with the pregnancy topic, no matter what other symptoms you have.

http://www.healthlinkbc.ca/kb/content/special/hw197814.html#aa88943

If there is no indication to seek medical attention under this topic, you can then go to the symptom topic for more informtion.

If you are sick, you can enter any symptom you have e.g nasuea or diarrhea, do a search then do the Check your Symptoms. It will let you know whether or not you should see a doctor, or if home treatment should suffuce.

It also has lots of great information on Pregnancy, breastfeedin, bottle feeding, etc etc etc

It’s hard for new moms and pregnant moms to be, when you don’t have someone close to ask questions of.

Even if you get the bug, you should be totally fine. I had it at 25 weeks. It sucked but as long as you are keeping yourself hydrated as best as possible, baby is safe.
