@anonymous678:  I think you and I might be in the same boat with the progesterone/LP… DH’s results don’t come in until Friday but I am praying to god that our problems lie with me… good luck Hun! Hopefully other bees are more helpful than me 🙂

My DH’s SA results came back awful. Less than 1 million, 0.65 million to be exact, and 0% motility. Hopefully IUI will work wonderfully for you, I’ve heard stimulated cycles have a great success rate. I have diminished ovarian reserve, so with DH’s results it looks like we are going to have to go the IVF with ICSI route. Good luck!

Posted back to you in the six month thread too, but basically my husband got his SA results last week and were similar to yours. He has 11 million and while his motility was good (55%) his morphology was pretty bad at 10%. We haven’t had a follow up with our doctor yet to discuss what this means, so I would be curious to know, too. So far they haven’t found any issues with me other than ureaplasma. I have a postcoital test on Friday so we’ll see how that goes. Keep us posted on what your doc says about your results! I have been reading up a ton on supplements and nutritional and lifestyle changes that can supposedly help improve sperm so am going to try to help DH make some changes to see if that helps at all.

@anonymous678:  Just wanted to say that I’m sorry to hear about your DH’s results.  We have male factor infertility too.  The first step is to repeat the SA — sometimes the results vary so you want to make sure that it wasn’t just a lab fluke.

I don’t know much about SA results, but wanted to comment to find this thread later… DH is getting his SA tomorrow (should have results by Monday)… I’ll understand a little more about them then…

@maggierose:  just an FYI, there’s a bee here (bananasareyellow?) who’s DH had SA results similar to yours (even lower morphology rate actually) and she got pregnant the next cycle (without intervention I believe, maybe just clomid?).  So it CAN happen! FX!

My DH’s results were silmilar to those results. My doctor also called  me and told them to me over the phone. When DH asked about the results, I simply told him his results werent the best they’ve seen and they recommended seeing a urologist. Hes a worrier and didnt even want to read them. DH wasnt to excited about the idea and I didnt want to push him and make him uncomfortable. He kept saying it will happen, but after another 3 months I told him that he was going to have to go.  The urologist did an exam and ordered blood work and another SA. The Doctor said SA can change each over time. She sent him to a fertility clinic for the 2nd SA because she thinks they do a better job with the results. We go back to her and get a results in 2 weeks. His urologist took 3 months to get into. Looking back I wish I would of set up his appointment right away instead of trying to tip toe around the situation, but I was trying to be sensitive to how he felt(didnt want to hurt his manhood). However waiting on his results has slowed down how agressive they have been with treating my issues.

@anonymous678:  I have seen much worse and IUI is not super expensive or invasive so I think it’s pretty good news overall.  I used to work for a urologist so I have seen a lot of SA’s.

@maggierose:  I know the feeling!  I really hope it works for you!  If not, using Clomid or IUI isn’t all that invasive compared to IVF.  The good news is your husband HAS sperm.  Also, what I told the other Bee, the morphology of “normal” sperm is REALLY strict, and if the sperm is barely borderline abnormal they are deemed “abnormal”, so since they don’t tell you the percentage that were “borderline” it’s safe to assume most that were abnormal are still quite functional.  Especially with good motility and an OK sperm count.  FX for you!

@anonymous678:  as for you OP, I really hope whatever choice ya’ll make going forward works for you.  I don’t think your chances of conceiving naturally are terrible… Like I was telling maggierose, it’s happened before.  FX!!

My ears were ringing! 😉

@anonymous678:  Just answered you on the other thread. 🙂

@maggierose:  Hi! My DH had a normal sperm number and motility but only 2% normal morphology using strict criteria, which is pretty bad, but evidently not that bad as we got KU’d the very cycle after he got his SA done, without meds! I guess it only takes one little swimmer to make a baby, so one of the healthy ones must have gotten through. 🙂 Currently 17wd and doing great!

@bananasareyellow:  Thanks for sharing your story! At least your DH had a normal count – mine had abnormal count and morphology so I am not sure we have quite as much of a chance. But it’s so great to hear that even with the low morphology you had success. I am really hoping that we have one little normal swimmer that can get through… 🙂

@anonymous678:  My DH’s first SA results came back with only abnormal morphology and according to my doctor it should have been at least 5% (that’s top number here).  Anyway, i was super worried and sad for him, but the doctor told me over and over again that these numbers change all the time.  My RE told us that anything can affect these numbers, even nerves and having an “off”day, the doctor ordered a second SA and his numbers were normal.  I would suggest to maybe ask for another SA.  Again, these numbers change all the time.  After a second SA, the doctor can determine a diagnosis or treatment for your guys, if you even need it.  As far as telling your DH, I just told him over the phone.  I didnt wait until dinner time, when i see him, i figured the longer a wait, the harder it would be to say it.  GL and wish you the best, lady!
