i am having such a hard time deciding on a wedding band! It needs to be sturdy for any keind of job i might have in the future. Easy to wear when we have kids and it needs to love the design forever.
This is so hard, how did you pick your wedding band?

for me the wedding band was the easiest thing out of the entire wedding planning. My mum had a simple plain gold band, as did both my grandmothers. I never thought for a second that I would want something different.
My engagement ring was made with the primary focus to fit a straight plain gold band next to it, and it was one of the first things I ordered when I got engaged!
For me a plain band doesn’t distract from the e-ring, is classic enough on its own should I ever not wear my e-ring, screams ‘wedding band’ to me, lol, and is the classic symbol that I think of when I think of a wedding band.
I guess I’m probably no help if you want to go for something fancier, but for me it was plain all the way. I’ll get an eternity ring for a little more sparkle if I fancy it down the line!

I knew what engagement ring I wanted for the longest time. my fiancé got that one for me and it has a matching band. So I’m going to order that.

for months, whenever i went to the jewelry store, i would look at this one ring that i loved (it’s technically an enhancer, but i thought it would look good as a wedding band). i didn’t buy it those times though… i kept thinking that i might find one i liked better. i didn’t want to settle for one that i liked just because it was there.
then one day it wasn’t in the case anymore. i asked and it turned out they weren’t selling that design anymore. i panicked because i realized in that moment that it was THE ring. luckily for me, the employees at this store are very helpful. they were able to find one left online at another store and ordered it for me.
so… i almost missed it because i didn’t want to settle.

Good question.I bought mine online and I knew I had to have it the moment I saw it on the screen. Since then I’ve seen several others I drool over as well. I think you’ll always be able to find others that would work/that you like. Plus, you can always add more for anniversaries if you like the stacked look- I currently have 2 more on my wishlist for the future. I’ll always cherish the original though, because we exchanged vows with it. Stay true to your personal style when choosing, and don’t settle for anything that doesn’t speak to you.

I do feel i want something traditional (European) but my e-ring is a platinum knife efge so a simple gold band isn’t a good fit.
I am really like the two ton milgrain Tiffany has, maybe thats the one.

I always knew the e-ring style I wanted, and I wanted my wedding band to match it. I fell in love with my set when I saw it.

When I found out that they made eternity rings with diamonds around the entire band, I thought it was the most beautiful creation ever! hehe I purchased a 1 ct eternity band at Peoples/Zales because it came with a Lifetime Protection Plan, which means they will replace any lost diamond. They can also remake the ring if I want to have it resized. I would not have been comfortable purchasing a diamond band without a warranty because diamonds do come out with everyday wear!!
If you’ll wear the band alone, make sure it has a good enough size to stand on its own. I soldered my band to my ering so I actually got another band to wear alone, fun right?! 😉
Good luck on your search!

Like with anything else, pick something timeless, elegant, simple. Avoid anything fussy, trendy, or “very now”.

@joya_aspera: THIS – I see alot of ladies on here with almost identical rings, because those are the most popular this year. I just wonder how they will feel about them in a few years.
Don’t get me wrong ladies, they are nice.. but if they weren’t so popular now, I wonder how many of those same ladies would NOT have bought them.

Like everything else, when it’s “the one” you will know.

I don’t know! My fiance bought the matching band to my ring and I know it is not THE wedding ring for me! I also have a plain one, but it’s not the one either. I am planning to go shopping for one because I really want to find a wedding band that I love as much as I love my engagement ring.

It took me a few times to choose a wedding band. I knew I wanted yellow gold, some sort of vintage flair, and for it to look very feminine.
The first ring I purchased was a yellow gold band that had an engraved Forget-Me-Not floral design on it. I liked it, but didn’t love it so I returned it. The second ring I purchased was a plain yellow gold band with milgrain edging. Again, liked it, didn’t love it, returned it.
My final ring was an eternity band that I had been looking at for a few years online. However, I was never able to find real-life photos of it or find it in jewelry stores… so I only had the stock picture to go by. I decided to take the leap and buy it knowing I couldn’t return it because it was custom sized. Once it arrived and I opened the box my heart sung! My wedding band is PERFECT for me. I know this isn’t helpful, but I think you really just “know” when it’s the right band.
ETA: Just read one of your comments where you said you have a knife edge solitaire. My ring is also a knife edge solitaire and I think my bezel eternity (kind of like the Tiffany Jazz band, but with milgrain) looks lovely with it.
