Hyatt Lodge

posted 4 months ago in Chicago

Hi everyone. Im new to this wedding planning. We are getting married 9/12/09. We have a church, reception location, room block, and photographer. Ok with that said: has anyone had or having their reception at Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook. We have it booked and money down, and i love it. But I just wanted to hear other peoples thoughts. Like what to ask, how the food was, were they nice, did the room blocks work okay...anything you have to offer would be great. Thanks!

Mrs. Emerald was married there! You might want to go back and look over her posts-- her wedding was beautiful.  Hopefully she'll see this too and she can give her perspective.

I am getting married at The Lodge too! - up in the Grand Oaks pavilion.  I attended a wedding there last month, and we loved it so much we booked it for our own wedding.  At the wedding I attended, the food was SO good.  As far as finished product, the location was perfect and so relaxing.  So far they have been great to work with, and my friend who married there loved their team as well.  She did recommend getting everything in writing, however, so that's a good tip...

Hi ladies,

Sorry for the delayed response! This is Mrs.Emerald. I absolutely LOVED having my wedding there!! Everything went so smoothly (well, I had a DOC as well), but their staff was great and very accomodating, the food was delish, and everyone loved it. I liked the fact that the Grand Oaks Pavillion is in the back, sort of secluded from the rest of the hotel. Having our ceremony on the patio right outside the Pavillion was also great, because it created a nice flow of events, from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception inside.

Feel free to private message me with any questions!

I'm also a Hyatt Lodge Bride! We are getting married next summer in the Grand Oaks Pavillion, and I'm really excited. I've heard nothing but great things about the site, but unfortunatley don't have any personal feedback about it yet...I am a bit concerned about the room block thing. Most of our guests are from out of town and those 20 rooms are going fast...any advice from other brides on how they handled that? Did you also reserve a block in one of the other hotels in Oak Brook?

I am getting married there next summer, and I have to say that I am super-frustrated with them.  They are pretty poor communicators.  No follow-up, extremely slow to respond.  They have a beautiful place, but I am very sad that they are so difficult to deal with.  They always make me feel like poo - I just have to remember that I am giving them a lot of money, and I shouldn't feel bad about trying to talk to them once in awhile!!

(sigh)

Oh well, they definitely make me want to hire a wedding coordinator so that I don't have to deal with them directly anymore.

Sorry for "emotional unloading."  They are driving me nuts, but now I feel better.  Thanks for listening!  :)

I am having my wedding reception at the Hyatt Lodge, and I a super excited.  They have been very helpful, and responsive to anything I ask.  We booked over a year ago, and took the time to really figure things out on our own, then when I presented my ideas, they were totally receptive.  I can't wait to post pictures for all of you 2009 brides.
