I really want to use Hydrangeas for my July wedding, but everyone i've talked to says they don't stand up in the heat. Has anyone used Hydrangeas successfully?

FYI, We're planning on DIY'ing flowers, probably through a mail-order company in bulk.

I had the same concern, but the florist I spoke to said I could use hydrangeas for my August wedding with no problem.  Like, caszos said, he mentioned each stem will need to be kept in a water tube.  Good luck!

I am hydrangea obsessed!  My whole August wedding is hydrangeas (well, that's a bit of an exaggeration)...   We are indoors most of the time, but my florist didn't seem too concerned.

I'm using hydrangeas for my July wedding (I'm clearly obsessed with them also ;)), and like a lot of other bees' florists, my florist didn't seem worried. We are going to be inside and she said that as long they are in water and/or bunched close together they should be fine!

I have mainly heard that they can be a sensitive flower and wilt easily and that they need lots of water.  I would make sure that you keep them in water as much as possible, maybe in water tubes per stem, like the other girls mentioned and make sure you keep them cool as long as possible.

I'm using them for my wedding as well :)

My florist didn't seem too concerned, she just mentioned about keeping them in water as much as possible, as well that they need to be cut a certain way...? I'm not really sure what that means, but if you're florist is prepping everything then assume she/he knows what they are doing hehe.

    yay hydrangea love!
