First things first, I am a budget bride. So honestly I don’t pay for, nor do I make anyone else pay for, anything we don’t have to.
My flower budget only consists of my bouquet because the family farm has a huge white hydrangea tree.
It took almost two decades for me to figure out the real name for these flowers, we just called them snowballs and would throw the soft bursting balls at each other as children…and as teenagers.
These will be the centerpiece flowers, I am cutting from the tree with my father’s blessing.
These flowers would not have been my first choice, but they are free, the correct color, and have family history.
But other than one or two “balls” in a simple vase (which I like). What else can I do with this flower that would be more interesting.

I have seen hydrangeas especially painted all sorts of colors with flower paint.

well…i ADORE hydrangeas and will be using them alot in my wedding. What about hanging them in mason jars or tin cans? Honestly go to google and it will show you a million things to do with them.
I think they are gorgeous and a nice sturdy flower to use.

I saw this the other day … dying hydrangeas I know it works on carnations but I guess this would work too…

I loooove hydrangeas. They are one of the featured flowers (bloomed and unbloomed) in many of my arrangements.
You can arrange them with roses too!

Hydrangeas are my favorite– I had blue/purple ones for my centerpieces. Although I didn’t do them myself, I imagine they would look great with a few sporadic flowers from the super market added in, or just some greenery.
I found these from the web:

For our wedding, we put purple hydrangeas in shallow bowls with water and river rocks. They were beautiful! Posting in case you like the look. 🙂
