I took my Engagement Ring in this weekend to get adjusted. I have been wearing it since getting engaged 3 weeks ago, but it was just a tad too big. When they took it off my finger I swear it was like I was giving up my 1st born child. I almost cried!! Than when they told me it could take from 7-14 days I almost cried again.
Am I a complete sap? Or did anyone else get upset when they had to give up their e-ring for a period of time?

My e-ring needed resetting and the jeweler actually made me a temporary ring with my stones set in it to wear until I could have my real ring back. I didn’t know he planned to do this, and was feeling traumatized about handing my ring back to him for 7-10 days. His wife suggested he give brides temp rings to wear in the interim because she empathizes with how yucky it feels to be without your e-ring.

I received my e-ring in a solitaire setting and we went shopping for a new setting. I wore it for only 2-3 days before having to give it to a jeweler for a few days. We rushed it and it only took 5 days though. But it was more anticipation than anything =]

When we picked out my ring it was too small… I have chubby fingers. Anyways, I had to leave it there to be sized. It was heartbreaking and pretty much the only thing I could talk about. Finally a week later I got to wear it for the first time… It was one of the happiest moments of my life =)

I took me 10 months to get mine sized lol, so don’t feel bad. Even then, I put on a different ring so it wouldn’t feel quite so weird. Luckily the jeweler I used does it in-house so it only took two days!

I’m about to take mine in to get reset, but I don’t think it will be a big deal. Honestly, Fiance gets annoyed with me sometimes because I take it off when I do the dishes or other cleaning, and sometimes I forget to put it back on all day. To me it’s just a trinket. The important part is that we’re getting married.

No you aren’t a sap. I have 2 and my hubby to be keeps asking me when will I take them into the store but I just don’t want to part with them. Even though I will get them back I know it will feel like forever. And just my luck I take them in and someone I haven’t seen asks to see my ring and I have nothing to produce lol.

I didn’t like having to give mine up to get it resized, especially since we did it the day after he proposed, but I knew it was better than the alternative of losing it because the ring was too big. I guess I’m a little spoiled though since they resized mine over night. I had it back by the next afternoon both times I had it resized.

We had to get mine resized and we got it back the same day. Many many hours later but the same day! I guess depending on how big it was or what all they have to do to it can take more time. Mine was only a little too big!

Well I didn’t cry but I was definitely bummed. One of my stones came loose once and it had to be sent in, I was without it for almost 3 weeks. Which was super weird, because I had already been wearing it for over a year. I kept feeling my finger and getting panicked thinking that I had lost it lol

I’ve been losing weight and have to get it sized down. However, I have totally been putting it off as I feel NAKED without it.

I freaked out when they re-adjusted the sizing on my e-ring and was even convinced for a while that they had switched out the stone!! LOL
