wow they sound just as catty as the students! Ithink its great that you lost that weight. I'm hoping to lose 10 to 15 lbs, its not that easy! Sounds like some people are having a little regret that they didnt enter at all.
What did you win? Other than a rocking body?
lol I won getting to wear clothing that I had tucked away and was about ready to donate. And I won $100! I took my FI out to an amazing dinner last night and blew the whole prize! Totally worth it.
Yep, I work at a middle school, so often the teachers take on the characteristics of the students. *sigh*
I think a weight loss is different for each person, and a loss of 5lbs for one person could be a major accomplishment and a loss of 50lbs for another could be done for life saving reasons. Others need to gain weight, ya know? I just applaud everyone for making personalized healthy lifestyle decisions.
Congratulations!!! That's such a great accomplishment! Ignore the snarky people, they're just jealous...lol!
You deserve to celebrate! Ignore your bitchy co-workers - it sounds like they have their own issues to work through. Good for you for taking the high road, and congratulations!!
Sometimes revenge is a great motivator. ;)
go you! that's so awesome. How do you stay motivated? I'm having the worst time ever with motivation.
Congrats! That's awesome. I find that when people make rude comments about the fact that someone has lost weight, they are just jealous.
congrats!!!, i agree with all comments above! they are jerks and totally jealous!!!!
You're not being defensive, you're being proud! If they say that, you could always say "okay then, try it". See what they say then! Anyone who has lost 20 pounds knows what a huge accomplishment that is - way to go!
ps. You posted awhile ago about wanting to lose alot of weight and you were a huge inspiration to me. Thank you!
Sorry for your rude staff! BUT YOU GO! CONGRATS, THAT IS AWESOME!

From January to June, the faculty at my school had a biggest losers competition. Aaaaaaaaand, I won! I lost 23.5lbs since January, plus the 8 that I had lost over the previous year that equals 31.5lbs so far! I am proud of myself, and while I've fallen off the wagon here or there, it's been controlled falls...more like tuck and rolls really.
Well, good thing that I can keep a positive attitude about it, because it looks like I am the only one.
They had the same competition at my work last year, and the winner lost something like 75lbs. That is amazing! Everyone was so happy for this woman, and she felt fantastic! Second place lost 50ish, and 3rd place lost 40ish.
So what have I been hearing all week? "Huh, I shold have entered if you only had to lose 20lbs to get first place." "Competition wasn't too hard this year, huh." "Oh, I gain and lose 20lbs all the time." Over and over...from MANY people on my staff.
Now, I'm normally an outspoken person, but my weight is a sensitive subject, and I didn't want to look like the overly-defensive fat girl. So I've kept my mouth closed.
Instead of getting defensive, I'll be getting even. This summer, my goal is to lose another 20lbs. And in the fall...maybe another 20lbs. So F-YOU, staff. Thanks for being supportive. Jerks. :)
