I have been playing around with these since the November-ish. They have had a bunch of re-designs, a couple of massive fails (wax seals = painful!!), and I have spent more time on them than I really care to think about (LOL).
I have made 60 of these beauties!
I know you ladies can appreciate the OCD insanity!!
I started with a pink pocketfold, and added a satin ribbon belly band (using my 1.5 inch Xyron):
Add in a black invitation mat (cut from 8.5 x11 inch cardstock, and adhered using the 9″ Xyron):
When the wax seals failed, I improvised, making dozens of fabric flowers (I can post my process in another thread if anyone wants to see it):
And I hot glued one onto each invitation:
Add in a xyron-backed invitation and some inserts and voila!!
One question though – do the rounded corners on the inserts look okay even though the invitation and mat have pointed corners?

Nice job! Those look great! I don’t think it matters that the corners are rounded on the inserts. I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

You’ve done a really nice job!!
and riley jane is right, everything looks fine, don’t worry about the corners.

Thanks guys, I really wanted to mount the inserts on a black backing (with a, 1/8 inch on each side exposed) but FH banned me from putting any more time into the invitations – the inserts looked unfinished with square corners to me, so I tried rounding them off – which I think is a little more finished looking.

Yea! That’s awesome that you are almost done with your invites 🙂 Plus they look great! We are doing DIY invites ourself (like making the pocket from scratch and everything!) and understand where you are coming from completely. I’m hoping our hard work will pay off as much as yours did.
I really like the rounded corners as well 🙂 Great Job!
