So, I posted earlier about my bf (now FI) wanting to go on a random trip. We delayed it for a week and just got back yesterday! Long story short, he asked me on 17 mile drive in the Carmel/Pebble Beach area (so gorgeous!) We found this secluded beach and went climbing on these rocks, it was beautiful. He asked someone at the lookout point about 100 yards away to take our picture. He took a couple and then my FI signaled to take one more and thats when he got down on one knee! I started laughing out of nervousness and then he asked me to marry him, I stuck my hand out and said “of course!” It was perfect!
On another note, I originally wanted an OEC but it looks like the jeweler made a mistake and put a cushion in (it is Moissanite). What are your thoughts? A couple of people I have told said the cushion looks better because the stone stands out vs a round, but I love the chunky rainbow facets of the OEC. I LOVE the setting, tho!:)

Here is a pic of an OEC for reference, I would request a smaller culet.

First, congratulations!!! Second, while your ring is absolutely gorgeous the way it is, I do think an OEC would look better with the round halo setting, plus that is what you really wanted. Whatever you decide to do though, it is super stunning!

I would say OEC since that’s what you originally wanted. The cushion does look gorgeous though! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

@luckylady3090: Congratulations! I love Carmel, your FI picked an incredible place to propose 🙂 Will you be getting married in Cali too?
I say go for the OEC because that’s what you originally wanted and no one wants you to have eing regret. Both are beautiful though, and you could decide you want to keep exactly the ring your FI proposed with, and that’s great too.

Congrats! Gorgeous ring. THe cushion in round halo is interesting and I’ve never seen it befoer. It looks great, but if you really want an OEC I say go for it. They’re gorgeous!!

@luckylady3090: Gorgeous story n congrats.
On the other hand, I learned about the difference between OEC vs RBC… That chart is amazing showing the diff between the height vs the table size
