Why don’t you take your dress to a seamstress and have it fixed?  Have the straps removed.  Get a good seamstress and she can do wonders I’m sure.  I’m sure it can be fixed!

I did – I am so guilty of this! I bought a dress, loved it in the store and then looked back on the photos and HATED it, more then you can imagine. I’m in the process of trying to sell it right now, and have already bought another dress to replace it.

Only my FI and friend know about the first dress – and I’m going to be listing it soon on a site that sells used wedding dress’ although mine isn’t used at all. Not even altered!

PS – oddly enough mine had a sweetheart neckline too and that’s premarily what I hated about it.

I would say see if you can alter the dress first.  But I would advise that you go back and try on a bunch of dresses with different necklines, and see if there’s another that you like a LOT better, so you know what you want to have alternated.  At the same time you can keep an open mind to completely different styles, and see if it’s worth it to change dresses.
